Recent Boil with my Old Man and some others.

We will do this a couple of times a month! Sometimes adding Shrimp & Crab, this is just pure Crawfish.

Whew. I didn't know what was meant by "mudbugs". :covermouth: I'm so glad it wasn't bugs as in insects. Those look mighty tasty. :hungry:

Looks good, hope it tasted great! No red potatoes or corn?

I go to Houston every year specifically for crawfish season and to catch up with a close friend. He's definitely not a cook so we always hit the Ragin Cajun and cab it home. Definitely time to book a flight.

Keen Eye!!

I don't like to overcook and overcrowd my mudbugs while they are cooking.

So I boil sausage, lemons, mushrooms, corn, red potatoes, whole heads of garilc in a seperate in a seperate pot before the crawfish, let it cool down by the time the crawfish are done and let the crawfish SOAK in that pot after they cook in the other one.

Brazo, what kind of boil seasoning did you use? Old Bay is what I typically use.

I've never found Old Bay to be spicy enough.

Here is my long time rule of thumb on crawfish boil. Add spice until you hold your head over the pot at full boil and it takes your breath away and chokes you. Then it's ready:

Onion

Lemon

Garlic Heads

Bay Leaves

Salt - Lots of it

Black Pepper Ground

Black Pepper Corns Whole

Dry Crab Boil Mix

Liquid Crab Boil Concentrate

A Whole Bunch Of Cayenne!!!!!!!!!!

Once they are pulled out of the hot and soak in the warm pot with the same seasoning mixture, Then I will dust them with a little old bay and more cayenne.
