pedro7913 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Bought this 2001 Cohiba Piramides Edicion Limitada box a few years ago and forgot about it until I was going through one of my humidors the other day. The box was purchased in cuba by my brother at the cohiba factory, but now that I am looking at it, I do not think it checks out. Factory/Date code on the back is MKO OCT 08, on the back there are two stamps that say tiendas caracol habana cuba, then a circle stamp that says vendido en cuba, in the middle of the circle it says, tiendas intur, and the bottom of the circle it says, comintur. On the top of the box it has a habanos stamp that says aqui su garantia cuba with two letters and six numbers, CC248122 and on the green cuban seal it has the DE 621945 and it checks out under the black light. Any help would be greatly appreciated:-)
DinoCop05 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I'm no expert. But one thing is for sure. I don't think 2001 LE should have a box code of 08. Too many stickers and stamps too. Almost intentional overkill! Also, should be a Cohiba sticker on inside of lid.
sblevit Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 ^ That's correct. The writing under "Habanos" started in 2005. Those are fugazi fur sure. Pedro: Are you sure that your brother did not buy those outside the Cohiba factory?
theholmesmob Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Where is the '08 code? ...most likely under that blinding flash.......aaarg my eyes....
pedro7913 Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Sorry for the flash Where is the '08 code? ...most likely under that blinding flash.......aaarg my eyes....
pedro7913 Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 I just asked my brother and now the truth comes out, two words, no bueno.. ^ That's correct. The writing under "Habanos" started in 2005. Those are fugazi fur sure. Pedro: Are you sure that your brother did not buy those outside the Cohiba factory?
theholmesmob Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Sorry for the flash No apology needed, I am the world's worst photographer, just ask my wife.
Nino Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Wanted to chime in earlier about "buying" at the Cohiba factory : there is no "buying", no shop, at the "Cohiba factory" .... so I wonder where this box was bought. No bueno at all
CanuckSARTech Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Wanted to chime in earlier about "buying" at the Cohiba factory : there is no "buying", no shop, at the "Cohiba factory" .... so I wonder where this box was bought. No bueno at all My initial thought about these as well. Irregardless of everything else, all the stickers and such distracting stuff, three blatently major things wrong - plastic shrink wrapped, impossible "store", and wrong date code.
Nino Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Right Keith, I don't believe either that the box is genuine, no way. Claiming to have bought it "in the Cohiba factory" is the best indication for fake imho
finecigar Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Absolutely fake... there are too many red flags on this one it seems..
Rays98GoVols Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Sorry no good. If they have been properly stored, they may still Smoke just fine. Don't condem them until you light one up...
