Just about full, time to decide what's next.

Think I have posted about my set-up before - here's the details : 90% of my cigars are in inside metal lockers from a German company named Zarges that are water/airtight and those metal lockers are

Talking watertight, lockable storage. Has anyone tried pelican cases?

All our GPS components come in them so I've access to a few if their worth trying. Can probably snag a few if anyone's interested

Yup. That's what I use. I have a midrange desktop and two Underwater Kinetics (similar to Pelican) cases. My "hybrid humidor" (cross between cooler and a humidor) is lined with spanish cedar for loose cigars, the other is just for boxes.

Humidity - On the box side it's just a small amount of 65% beads. Pic shows a Xikar gel jar, was in there temporarily. The singles case has, along with a massive amount of cedar, 1.5lbs of 65% HF beads. The singles case gets opened probably about once a week to refresh my desktop and grab cigars I'm sending out in trades on another forum, and place cigars I've received.

Here's my Aristocrat. Two active humidifers on the bottom, three fans and temp controlled. I'd say it works great, although the humidity at to top of the unit is typically 2-3% below the bottom, where the active humidifers are located. I don't think this is a problem with the system as much as it is the fact that the thing is packed full of boxes (and it's actually quite a bit fuller now than in the pic below) and the streams of humid air have a difficult time making it up to the top shelf.

Also, while the internal fans are virtually silent, the humidifers are not and they run quite often. So much so that I wish there was a quieter option. If I were to do this over, in addition to making the unit 2x the size, I would probably ask Bob to find a quieter option for the humidifers even if that option took up more space.

CC stash:

-been working on this project for a long time now. Had my first Wineador set up for a long time, but knew I wanted a second to consolidate a bunch of small storage. Had a trade set for a second one, and UPS destroyed the thing on its way to me! Waited for another one and finally got one, then the looooong wait for the shelving :)

-consolidated a 28qt coolidor and a 12ct Wine cooler into the left one, which is box storage, with "top-shelf" singles in the drawers.

-the boxes on the lower half of the left one are the "kids' boxes." All are boxes from their birth months, except for the El Triunfador and Boli BBFs, which were gifts from great friends to celebrate the twins' birth.

- All loose singles in the right one, with LOTS of room to grow now, thank goodness.

NC and Pipe stuff:

-This wineador and the drawers were a gift from a bunch of friends, orchestrated and built by my good friend Brad, to mark my twins' birth, as well as my 30th Birthday, both of which were last November.

-consolidated a large tupperdor and another 28qt cooler into this one.

Mate, I love how those twin CC fridges look. I want something like this once I'm moved in to my new home :)

My new larger desktop Humidor arrived today from the US. Don't have enough cigars or enough money to stock anything larger at the moment. Should hold between 3-5 boxes (25's) worth of cigars.

Will upload further pictures once my orders from our hosts arrive. The hygrometer should obviously be in the middle but is being calibrated at the moment!

Updated...now filled thanks to a couple of orders! Took quite a bit of negotiating to get them all in! Haha!

Not the best photo I know and there are a couple of odd ones in there as well! 3 layers in the bottom and 2 layers in the shelf.

My refreshed setup. Have reboxed just over half of the cigars as my humidor was way too packed and the cigars were pretty much sat on the humidifier and started getting mould. Excuse the garish colours of the coolidor, it was cheap, it works, and it gives me space for the 3 boxes I'm waiting to arrive!

Here's my Newair AW-181E Wineador I built. I lined the interior with Spanish Cedar more out of boredom than necessity.

post-21153-14058767107414.jpg

I ordered drawers from wineadors.com to finish off the project.

a7equzyg.jpg

For humidification I use 2.5 lbs of 65% Heartfelt beads spread throughout the cooler.
