Well, I got a shipment in on Monday and like you are supposed to I looked them over, put them in my humidor to rest from the long trip, and waited. I kept hearing little voices saying, "Smoke me!" The voices got the best of me and I lit one up this morning. First impression when cutting was "I maybe should have waited." It was a little soft. I lit the cigar and the first drag was remarkable. Tasted, to my untrained palate, like dark chocolate with maybe a little caramel. I thought to myself, "Wow, this is incredible!" well, it went down hill from there. The stick kept wanting to go out and I had to relight it three times. So, as you can imagine, it got bitter. I finished the cigar but learned a valuable lesson: LET THEM REST AFTER SHIPPING! I'm sure this is a wonderful little smoke. The first draw hooked me. Now comes the hard part of being patient. Yes, I'm new to all this shipping stuff, but I'm learning fast. I guess I'm just like my carpenter apprentices in that I don't listen to experience and must learn from my own mistakes. It's like getting a new bicycle for Christmas when there is 10" of snow on the ground. It's murder having to wait to ride it until spring. Oh, well, we live and learn!

Just received an 11 box and let it sit a week and the Reyes was on of the worst cigars I have ever had. Tastes of pure dirt and dog poo. Was looking forward to my first one but was sadly disappointed

to be honest i have to completely disagree with you guys. I got my first 24 cab on monday, after five days in transit. smoked one right out of the box, i just didnt care, Im not a believer that they always have to rest. and it was so good, smoked it to the nub. I did not want it to end. Smoked another one the next day and it was perfection. these little cigars are addicting. perfect draw, construction, perfect burn. The flavor was amazing. Very exotic and complex, and IMO i get much more than just the typical "coffee chocolate". I love them. You guys must have just got a dud, because these are some of the best petite coronas I've ever had IMHO. I get exotic spice, cream, grass, wood, nuts, and i got a few puffs with an amazing tropical fruit sweetness. Dont give up on these!

Many people that ship cigars over-humidify them to ensure they don't dry out in shipment. If it keeps wanting to go out, chances are it had too much moisture. (My guess.) I always put them in my humi to let them even out. They seem to come too dry, or too wet.

Well. The Reyes doesn't come in a box of 11... so... I would wonder if you got the real deal. Personally, every Reyes I have ever smoked was nothing like your description. Love those little sticks.

I think he meant a box with a 2011 date code :)

You need to let a new box sit in the humi for at least 2 weeks to stabilize and rest from the transit. The reyes is a great cigar with very unique asian spice flavors with some vanilla and cream. Give em some time and they will come around, in my opinion they are made with some of the highest quality tobacco available.

Never ever had a bad Trini no matter what the vitola. If they appear over humidified and your anxious to smoke asap try just dry boxing for a few days, but like has already been said you should really let them sit for a few weeks to stabilize.

Yeah, I knew better, but the little voice crying out from my humidor got the best of me. I'm sure they will be great with a little time on them.
