hdryder Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Hey everyone I am looking to upgrade to a cabinet humidor with both temp & humidity control. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with an Avallo humidor with their Accumonitor Humidification System? If so can you give any imput on them. They look pretty good & are definitly cheaper then the Aritocrat & probably a shorter waiting list but I dont want to sacrifice quality for price & availability. Looking forward to hearing some opinions. http://www.avallohumidors.com/cooled2000.html Cheers Richard
perfectform Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I happen to have the exact same cabinet in a Mahagony finish and I love it. Beautiful and solid craftsmanship for a somewhat cheaper price. Matt and Ron are a pleasure to deal with as well. Enjoy your purchase, whichever one you get. It's exciting, I know!
hdryder Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Thanks for the reply. I am almost 100% sold on this one & your right about Matt & Ron...both very helpful.
Neuralpath Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I've had one of their larger units for a few months. It seems to work very well. The cabinet is in a cool area so I can't tell you how the cooling works. The canister system is pretty simple and by having more than one canister (mine has 4), is more distributed than some single-source units. The cabinetry is nicely done but relatively simple. I also have a large Vigilant cabinet (much more expensive) where the cabinetry is at a completely different level (fine furniture) but the functionality is more complicated and not as effective (e.g., more variation in humidity top to bottom). In short, I recommend Avallo, and Matt is very responsive an great to work with.
stogieokie Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I can't speak to the Avallo, but have one of Bob's humidors and I feel comfortable saying that you get what you pay for. I tried to save money in this area for years myself and finally got lucky and picked up one of his boxes "used". I'm sure that I could easily get what I paid for out of it now, nearly three years later (like there's any way I would sell it) . . .
cigcars Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 $2,399...for a 48in. by 22in.???? Uhm, for that price I'd need a tad more measurement area...
anacostiakat Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I have had an Avallo Triple D Chilled unit for a few years now. I also have an Aristocrat endtable unit (which was my first humi). I like the humidification system in the Avallo best as it is simpler to work with. Both units are well made and supported. The Avallo was less expensive at the time I got it. I am very happy with it. The service provided has been excellent. Good Luck on whatever you decide on.
hdryder Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 $2,399...for a 48in. by 22in.???? Uhm, for that price I'd need a tad more measurement area... Yes it is expensive but when comparing it to the Aristocrat with the same depth & width but 8 inches shorter starting @ over $2500 it seems that the Avallo is a much better bargan. He sent me some different pics with some different options they offer and i gotta say they look great. Im thinking it is time to order my Xmas present.
