only thing i understood in that sentence was "join smithy' and i think we all know the chances of that!

what is a cosplay? let alone the other things?

It's where messed up people, adults, get all dressed up like their favourite cartoon characters and whatnot, and play fantasy land. It's right up your dark little alley, Ken. You know, with your affinity for Thai hookers and all that jazz....

Cosplay is a culture where smoking hot ladies (some bordering on thermonuclear), who would normally have absolutely nothing to do with a bunch of awkward geeks, dress up in scanty sci-fi or fantasy costumes and parade around conventions.

It can be quite dangerous for these young ladies at conventions, with many suffering from sparined ankles... not to do with tripping on their costumes, but the amount of tongues and dropped jaws on the floor (obvious from the previous pics, except for the horrendous Sailor Moon).

The comparison to Shakespear is fitting because Joss is a genius word-smith and plot-maker, and because his shows involve your brain on a higher level than 99% of the crap out there today.

Also because he writes music and lyrics, and serious stuff too, like the episode where Buffy's mom dies.

Probably the most powerful piece of tv ever created.

Not to mention the casting of Buffy managed to hire several of the best actors ever seen on tv.

Buffy, Willow, Spike, Rupert, Wesley, Anna, Faith, etc

Just one example, Spike:

Yea, "Hush," "The Body," and "Once More With Feeling" (musical episode) are three of the best TV episodes of all time, any genre.

I mean who besides Joss Whedon would have the balls to do a 42-minute tv episode that has NO SPEAKING at all for like 32-minutes, lol.

Yes, that episode where Buffy's mom dies has stayed with me since the original air date. The best, most real acting on the part of Sarah Michelle Gellar. Never seen anything in TV or movies that comes even close to the emotion in that scene.en Very powerful.

I would never have thought in a million years that Ken would be a fan of Buffy. Sorry Ken. But I'm glad to see that someone who's opinion I respect greatly likes what I like.

I did also watch every episode of Angel, but found Buffy more enjoyable.

KEN : As for True Blood, please take my word for it, you have to watch it. This is a very good series, but completly different from Buffy. Great characters, great story, lots of bare breasted/99% nude beautiful ladies : what could you ask for more ? Since we've watched all 4 first seasons in about a month's time, my wife has now started reading the books the series is based on. She's just finished the third book...

PS : Sarah Michelle Gellar is one very hot looking lady ! But that Anna Paquin (True Blood) is very sexy...you'll know what I mean when you watch the series !

For those members wondering if it is indeed KBG posting this topic, may I offer the following quote as proof:

Granted I have not seen them, but I still feel able to dismiss them.

'nuff said.

I totally agree. I dare anyone to watch the show from Season 1 through to that episode and NOT cry like a little baby. Especially if you've ever lost someone close to you.
