ZinZan Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 For the umpteenth time i'm quitting the dirty sticks. It's been 10 days, still early days though. I'm using Niquitin a nicotine lozenges by GSK, it helps a lot. I've tried cold turkey before but i've only lasted 3 weeks and reverted. This time i'm determined, i really want to make it stick so i'm using whatever is necessary ie gum, patches and etc. Cigar really helps, i use it as reward every couple of days or when i'm having a craving. Will update in 3 months time because i think that will be the real test.
Hohenthal Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Bravo, thumbs up! Good trick to replace a bad habit with a more civilized one. Fingers cross!
JohnnyC Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 HAng in there Brother...in the end it will be worth it. 27 years for me and counting.
Phillycyclocross Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Not sure if smoking a cigar will be better or worse when you're trying to quit. Hope it works for you. When I finally quit I had to give up cigars and alcohol and the lifestyle I was living for a year in order to make it stick. Also started running everyday. Good luck!! One of the best decisions you'll ever make.
riazp Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Good luck! i've been there, been cigarette free for a few years...imagine all the money you'll save on cigarettes, you can spend that on cigars instead!
KarlJ Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 For me, after three weeks things got a lot better. At the time I didn't use any nicotine. Just went cold turkey and chewed on a lot of tooth pics. From there on out I said I wasn't ever going to smoke cigarettes because I'm never going through quitting again. The wife still smokes and I don't have the slightest urge. I do ocassionally use nasal snuff and I have read that it can be a method to stop smoking. It's inexpensive and it delivers nicotine. I can't find it at any of my tabacconist anymore so I order online. Hope you stick with it -Karl
El Presidente Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 You are stronger than a piece of paper with some weed and chemicals. Never forget that. You already have the enemy on the run. Finish the job.
NJP Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Best of luck mate. Dominate yourself Cheers Nic
