My wife doesn't mind Cubans, but objects (strenuously) to NC cigars. Her favorite seems to be well aged RyJ En Cedros for their fruity aroma.

*I've so never had complaints about my cigar smoke (both Cuban and non-) until I can only recall the one and only time there was a complaint about a cigar I shared w/a relative: a Perfecto Garcia. One of those all tobacco and not sure if totally handmade. But that was the one time my friends and family sheepishly tried to tell me that THAT one - stunk :cowpoop::no:

Montecristo #5 for the stranger, and it was an Upmann about 10 years ago that reminded my then girlfriend, now wife, of her late grandfather, who enjoyed cigars. She's always been a supporter of the hobby, and is slowly getting into it more herself.

I have received the most compliments while smoking Cohiba Siglo II's and H. Upmann #2's. The HU #2's that I have are the most incredible smelling cigars I've ever smoked.
