AC/DC wine

Australian rock band AC/DC are joining a growing list of celebrities by launching their own range of wine.

Kiss, The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden and Whitesnake have all brought out their own brand wines as has pop star Madonna.

AC/DC are selling varieties named after some of their biggest hits, including Highway to Hell cabernet sauvignon, Hells Bells sauvignon blanc and You Shook Me All Night Long muscat.

The group have teamed up with Australian winemaker Warburn Estate for the release of AC/DC The Wine.

From Paris Hilton's perfume, JLS condoms to a Kiss coffin, celebrities have spotted the marketing potential in associating their name and image with all manner of products.

The four different bottles will be sold in stores across Australia.

"We wanted to make sure that AC/DC's home fan base could have easy access to their rock icons' wines," said Steve Donohue, general manager of buying for the Woolworths Liquor Group.

An interesting topic. It may bring some into the world of wine, who might not investigate otherwise, which is, I suppose, a good thing.

On the flip side, I can see where it might be less than encouraging to enthusiats, who perhaps might see it as not much more than a kind

of endorsement deal.

There are of course some celebs who take it all seriously and do much more than simply lend their names. If anyone tries any of these wines,

I'd love to hear their thougts.

Been a huge AC/DC fan since 'High voltage' back in the 70's and would definatelyt try and pick up a bottle as a novelty if nothing else.

So what will their tag line be?

For those about to drink... we Salute you!!!

Big fan of their music, don't really care about that Wine.

I'm in most cases a fan of products (songs/movies/sporting skills) and not of a person so I don't really care about side projects or anything else of that kind certain person who's work I admire does that's not related to that actual work. Including gossip about personal lives, parfumes, drinks, clothing brands with that persons name or that persons opinions and statements not related to his work.

For example, my favorite band is Pink Floyd, there music is in the top 5 things in my life in general but I couldn't care less what Roger Waters thinks about anything but Music. Never understood that "ohhh that's George Clooney, he makes great movies, lets listen to him talk about Politics". There are exceptions to that rule, and no offence to George Clooney, maybe he knows more about politics than I ever will, it was just an example.

I read somewhere how back in the 70's they asked Steve Mcqueen about something, some issue that was in the media at that moment and he replied something along the lines "Why are you asking me that for? I'm an actor, I pretend to be someone else for a living, what the hell would I know about anything"
