Freefallguy Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I know very little of AFL(after a "filed goal" it is cool when the ref pulls out his six shooters to indicate a score)... but this is an amazing catch in any league Amazing AFL catch!
Gooie Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I hate watching that replay. Probably because I support the team of the bloke being used as a step ladder.... If you liked that one then you will love these.
asmith Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Gee there are some scary tight pants in some of that footage.
Ghabanos Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Is it common to mount your opponent for a catch... Rediculous athleticism
Ken Gargett Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Is it common to mount your opponent for a catch... Rediculous athleticism for me, the best mark of the lot in that clip is jonathan brown running full tilt back into the pack, scattering them like nine-pins, and taking the grab. that was one of the kost courageous things i've ever seen. for those not familiar, he still plays like that - without any regard for safety. and remember, he had only just turned 20 then. amazing. the most spectacular mark i've ever seen, not in that clip, was one against the lions by shaun smith. i remember heading off to the pub after the game and it was all anyone could talk about. try this
Wil Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Impressive leap indeed. I rate Jonathan Brown's mark Ken mentioned and Nick Riewoldt's similar mark running back with the flight against Sydney (2004?) more highly. Beau Waters backing into the pack last weekend against Freemantle, getting smashed and then bouncing straight to his feet is one of the toughest things I've seen on the football field...
