Ken Gargett Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Don't know many but I'm going with "Turn The Page" by Bob Seger. fair enough. this one gets a start. love it. sometimes, when i manage the early morning walk, i wander along singing this at the top of my voice. great way to start the day. i used to get invited to street parties. no longer.
bolivr Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 A quick flick through the responses and no-one nominated Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty??? - Shame shame shame The sax just sears through that one- then there's the guitar solo in it too. Tasty. Some great nominations there though and some I will need to check up on Great thread Honourable mention to Tom Waits in full flight here doing - Heart Attack and Vine
Manny Sotelo Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Well according to James ....Studio Production Manager at Spitbucket....it is George Michael and "Careless Whisper" Elie Maalouly is a huge GM fan as well as owning all Culture Club CD"s. So what is the best Sax Song of all time? Elie send this through as a teaser LOL! I live really close to all those places! I used to work in that mall and @ the Grove, play football @ that highschool (againt), went to that JC college and shopped at that walmart! to funny!

Guest rob Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 This has always been one of my favourites. So much so that its in my regular rotation. Dave Stewart's "Lily was here"
Chicago Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 "I'm in the Mood for Love." Performed by Mr. Charlie Parker.
Rehman Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I'd just like to note that ever since this thread went up, the sax riff from Average White Band's "Pick up the Pieces" has been blowing in my head.
Maron76 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Huston Person playing "Moonlight in Vermont" has to be one of the best I have ever heard. PLus it has my two favorite combos, a Tenor Sax and a Hammond. I have this on vinyl and it sounds just amazing! Awesome recording! The you tube link does not do it justice. I have to second "Shotgun" by Junior Walker and the All Stars. Just a classic feel good jam.
