CaptainQuintero
Thinking about getting a new lighter as mine is dying, this looks sexy as hell but I have no experience with xikar lighters. I quite like the idea of a lemon drizzle lighter

CigarAsh
Xikar makes really quality stuff. They're often at the cigar shows at my favorite B&M here in town (they're also local guys so I'm a little biased). I have a similar lighter from them that I love, but it isn't a true torch - so not very good in the wind. Make sure you get the version that is a torch. Also, expect a pretty steep price on these, probably over $100. I got mine free for buying a box of Xikar cigars at a show. The Xikar HCs are decent smokes. CaptainQuintero
Oh right so this isn't windproof?
drubcurtis
Oh right so this isn't windproof? This is actually their windproof model, but it is a soft flame. I had one for a while but did not really enjoy the system. I personally prefer their torch system. I just picked up a Axia and it is a bad boy, I am really enjoying it. The good part about getting a xikar is you can purchase it and if you don't like it, just take it back to the store and they will hook you up with a brand new lighter and will let you switch models... Everything I'm reading says that this is a jet-torch, the EX is a torch powered soft flame have you that?
CigarAsh
Think the version in the video is the true torch (windproof). My versions is the softer flame. It's a great lighter, but doesn't cut it in the wind.

Mine is the solid chrome with inlaid glass/enamel medallion kind of reminiscent of old tobacco posters. I'm on my iPad now where posting pics is a pain (in other words I don't know how to do it yet). I'll post a pic tomorrow from my work pc if you want. Like I said, I love the lighter, but some days my deck is a little "breezy" and it's a pain. Then it's back to the cheap colibri. There seems to be a few different models, some have this soft flame while others have a torch/jet/flower like this I think that the cross over is the latter and it sounds like yours is the former? I think...lol

My bad, you are correct. I had the EX which has a different system than the Crossover... I have nothing to offer on the crossover but I am a fan of Xikar lighters for the previously stated reasons. Good luck!

I think...lol That's it! I didn't even know they made a true torch version of it until this thread. I'd go for the torch. But as I said before, they're pricey. I just need a flame not a work of art to get my cigar lit.

I have nothing to offer on the crossover but I am a fan of Xikar lighters for the previously stated reasons. Good luck! No problem! Lol I was starting to get paranoid about multiple models looking the same but having different internals! That's it! I didn't even know they made a true torch version of it until this thread. Yeah I know, I have a creme brulee burner for at home which is great but out and about is a pain, I'm fed up with Colibri and other cheaper brands dying on me after a year so wanting to get something which will last a bit longer lol!
