whilst one does applaud the core principles of the greens, and if they stuck to them, one might even consider voting for them, but we now have an influx of them into our senate where they will hold the balance of power. the ten members will split 69 portfolios between them. so you can imagine how much focus each will get.

one of them, amongst her many portfolios, has not only tibet (does even china have a ministry for tibet? - our greens do) but also, and i am not making this up, the portfolio for "***-lesbian-bi-transgender-inter-sex issues".

this mob are so completely out of touch with any form of reality that the morning after the last election, one of the new senators-elect actually went on tv to congratulate bob brown (leader of the greens) for winning the election. yes, they have a single seat in the house of reps, and now the balance of power in the senate, but she thought they'd won.

and if any evidence was ever necessary that bob brown has become a complete meglomaniac and crazy as a loon, one only had to watch him on the abc sunday morning news show where he was detailing what the government's economic policy would be.

the funniest thing in politics this year was that there was a challenge to the deputy leadership of the greens (apparently a few months as a senator-elect is enough experience to be one of the leaders of a political party in this country) and the press did not discover it for 8 weeks. seriously. that is how relevant they are.

and by the way, we'll be stopping mining. nasty thing that mining! notwithstanding it is about the only thing that has prevented us from plunging into deepest recession, this whackjob will stop it. bugger all the jobs and income.

if it is true one gets the governemnt one deserves, we must be the worst people on the planet.

and of course, none of this even touches on the rest of parliament - an opposition leader you wouldn't trust if he told you the sun would come up tomorrow and who has the IQ of soup, a treasurer who you wouldn't trust with tuckshop money, a extraordinarily egotistical foreign minister (former PM for those offshore) who is utterly detested especially in his own party which he seems to believe will call him in from the wilderness to lead them again (and who spends all his time trying to get appointed to the UN), and who can't even be in the same room as the prime minister. and then the prime minister herself, who would have to be the most miserable, dishonest, whining grub ever to hold the position. since the last one.

no wonder i drink.

At least your senators are openly ***. Ours have secret encounters at truck stop restrooms. Then they get caught "red handed" and still deny it. :cigar::liar:

Politicians often start out as Ken is, they look from the outside and tell themselves that they must change things, 5 years later they get their first office and become the exact same thing they came to hate, so Ken, what party are you joining?

I suggest this banner for the new party:
