ramon_cojones Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Something very bizarre with this forum's setting that I've not experienced on any other forum. From what I can gather (and this took me awhile to figure out) it seems that a thread is bumped to the top when one makes an edit to their post is this correct? I then have to go through the thread to see what has changed and it's not apparent most of the time (then how do you know someone has edited their post you ask? lol) I am not trying to be selfish but I believe it would be beneficial for threads not to be bumped to the top unless there is a new post, I think this would make it easier to read and navigate threads on the front page. I look at the icons to the left and they don't show a new post yet an old thread is magically bumped to the top, make sense?
Puros Y Vino Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Sometimes a thread with a poll will be updated when someone votes but does not post a reply in addition. Go back and check the posts you were looking at to see if that applies. Most people who want to bump their threads will usually edit their last post or post the word "bump". Usually a bump is used when people are organizing a herf and they want folks to see it easily. My 2c.

I've been paying attention and never realized how many polled threads there are so that would explain part of it. I know what bumps are and if you post a bump it obviously gets bumped to the top but the edit part of what you're saying is essentially the same as I said no?

If you edit your post, it does not move to the top of the forum.
