Ghabanos Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 rarely have time, but last two weeks, with sporting finals I have had a couple Lusis - very young but very deliciously creamy.... set aside a box for some good sporting events in the future...
Bahnofstrasse Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Just picked up 25, out of a 50 cabinet, of a Jun 05 Punch DC at Samuel Menzi's LCDH in Zurich. I had to after sampling one...2 1/4 hours of smoking bliss as I sat out at a Limmatquai Cafe, as the sun was setting, while enjoying a few Erdinger's. One of the better cigars I have had in a while.
thechenman Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 What a coincidence! These were my Friday night and Saturday night choices. I opened a bottle of Greg Norman Australian Sparkling. Just amazing how you can have a cigar a hundred times before, but as soon as you introduce a new pairing, it brings out a whole new characteristic to the cigar. The Greg Norman is 75% Pinot Noir, 41% Chardonnay, and 2% Pinot Meunier(Never heard before). Great toasted bread and semi-dry berry undertone. I'm beginning to get to the point if I intend to drink a bottle of white, I'll reach for sparkling/Champagne over a varietal like Chardonnay, Riesling or Ken's favorite Sauvignon Blanc. Glad to hear your HdM DC was excellent. Pinot Meunier is a fantastic grape varietal. I find it quite similar to Pinot Noir. It is often used for making sparklers. If you really want to get a taste of Pinot Meunier, I highly suggest you try Chandon's Pinot Meunier...one of my favorites.
Vortigan Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Have never smoked one as yet as I've found my favourite sizes to be Robusto and Pyramides,I've smoked a couple of Churchills but they just didn't "feel" right, apart from anything else,if that makes any kind of sense whatsoever. However,I'm sure that at some point I'll try one and equally sure that when I do it'll be the Partagas Lusi I absolutely love the Partagas flavours as a generalisation and I've read nothing but good about this cigars from all you guys here.
cigarros Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I voted "on Special Occasions" which is also considered "rarely" i guess. I love the Churchill and smoke them often but haven't found a DC that i am crazy about. Most of my smoking is done on weekend evenings at home. Agree. Closiest "special occasions" - when pigs fly My favorit DC RA Gigantes.
Smooth Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Once a month unfortunately... Which is a shame because sitting in quiet with a nice drink and a Lusitania or a Sir Winston is one of lifes great pleasures. Love a good double corona fitting those sort of moments perfectly...
