I had two boxes of these with the same code, the first box I broke into May of 08. I've always enjoyed Cuaba but had never smoked a Distinguidos, I've joked that the crappy Cuaba's must go to the Southern hemisphere but not this time. Flavorless nothing, I was shocked and tried another the next day, same result. Maybe they're sleeping I hoped, over the next year I tried them with constant results, just crappy cigars. I reviewed them on another site and said if this had been my introduction to the brand I might never have gone back.

Round two: Just opening the box I know things will be different, wrappers are dark, oily and the rich tobacco aroma coming out says bingo! I've said for me a good Cuaba reminds me of nuts and chews from See's candy and that's what I got in the beginning. Very sweet tobacco, which I'm a sucker for...............pun intended, with carmel, nuts, cocoa, cinnamon and brown sugar.

Just into the second third the flavors all roll together into a high quality root beer, not a bad thing but I lost the complexity I had in the first third. This is the way the cigar stayed till the end which tells me they need more time. Strength went from medium to medium-full but I lost all those beautiful flavors. This is the third cigar I've smoked from the box and all have done this, so the other seven are buried at the bottom of a desktop. Burn time was around 1 hour for all three which seems a little short as the Exclusivos I'm smoking take the same time.

Very good cigars but I think they'll get better.

Thanks for the review.

I've been puffing my way through a box of these, and all have been as you described, nutty and sweet.

I have a couple left, which I am keeping for later on.

I agree,fine cigar.

I never smoked a Distinguido but I do love See's candies. I had a girlfriend once from Cali and she turned me on to them, so your description of Distinguidos as lighting up a See's has me intrigued. I shall definitely add them to my shopping list.

Thanks for the review,Bro

Everything from nuts to cinnamon to root beer, medium to full... sounds like an identity crisis. I remember Mazo review earlier and I've been meaning to give these a try. Thanks for the review.

They sure do look beautiful, great picture.

Definitley a good tasting cigar. A little tight on the draw at the opening for my taste, but once it opens up, all the Pinar del Rio flavors come rushing in!!

Great Review

Just got done with an 09 and it was one of the best I've had. Great flavor, grear draw and lasted me an 1 hour 45. I think these closely resemble the Divinos in flavor.
