rckymtn22 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 What is camper wood? My guess it is too dried out to be used as a humidor now, but it is quite the find.

I believe camperwood is also known as Kapur or Borneo Camphor (not related to true camphor wood). It's a hardwood found in south east asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Sumatra, etc).
cigarros Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Fantastic treasure! Camper wood is one of the rarest material which is used for humidors. Are there any suggestions how much this artifact will go under the auctions hammer ?
laficion Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Rob, It would be interesting to try and find out what were the cigars smoked or sold on the Titanic in the cigar lounge and cigar bar on board. I'll try and see If I can find something on this. What is certain, they didn't have the time to be dry boxed ,
thechenman Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 What an awesome find and an incredible piece of history.
