MrQ Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I love these on lunch break, makes the rest of the day go a little better.
pittesq Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 As much as I love the line, I never got to try this particular size. Received some this week in a trade! Review to follow
kornazoo Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I am finishing up a box of 97's, and I am kicking myself for not getting more... One of my personal favorites, and everyone that I shared them with enjoyed them as well.
Smokiethebear Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Hard to go wrong with a BPC or just about any other Boli for that matter. A staple in my humi.
anacostiakat Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 » One of my favorites. » » I am currently smoking through a box of 98's that are off the hook, and » would rate them much higher, closer to a 91 or 92. I also have a box of » 97's that will not be touched for a couple more years because I want to » taste what a 10 year old aged Bolivar PC tastes like. I know myself well » enough to know that if I crack the box open, it will never make the » distance. I pulled the first one from my recently purchased box of '97s. With a glass of tawny port I was contented.
jkr Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 BPCs are fantastic. Inexpensive, consistently good quality, and loaded with flavor for a short smoke.
dogbreath Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Like 'em too, and like to use a punch on vitolas.
Well Armed Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 These are the bomb diggy. Young or old. But the oldies taste much different I think. More refined. But I would take either or under ANY circumstance.
Havana Joe Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Thanks for the review....I am also a fan of the Boli PCs. For me, they are a descent "goto" smoke...
CIGARHead Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 » Thanks for the review....I am also a fan of the Boli PCs. For me, they are » a descent "goto" smoke... Never really did much for me. I have the better part of a Cab of them that wont be touched for another 5 years. I see the potential, there are just so many other cigars that I enjoy it would be an injustice to myself to smoke ones I really dont like. Im keeping the faith though. The ones I have are from '04 and are some of the strongest, most earthy barnyard smellin' mofos I have ever took a whiff of. Beautiful too.
dogbreath Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Nice smoke. Have a few boxes of the PCs and JRs from Lisa that are resting. Thanks for the review.
kornazoo Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 » Nice smoke. Have a few boxes of the PCs and JRs from Lisa that are » resting. » » Thanks for the review. On to my second box of 97's.......I wish I had Tampa's willpower! Man, I got to get more of these.....
i_m_bug Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 » Singles, no codes. » » Construction: Very good, nice and uniform » » Wrapper: Very nice light brown. Smooth with the slightest bit of tooth. No » real sheen. » » Draw: Used the punch - great draw, with great smoke volume. I think I'm » going back » to the punch for all parejos. » » Taste: Started out with a bit of the sweet and sour spice, but gave way » quickly to » wood and mixed nuts. Dryish and stayed this way throughout. » About a third of » way in there was a slight honey sweetness, but this went away » fairly quickly, » and did not return. » At about mid point the power really kicked in, and I believe if » this one was » over smoked, you'd need to sit down for a while after. All in » all, a main flavor » profile of nuts, with wood in the near background. I enjoyed it, » and am curious » to find out if and/or how these will change with age. 87 I am really glad i make a cab of 50 for this PC. :-D I tried a few loose sticks and really like the taste to go ahead to purchase a box of it But would like to enquire, any one had a tasting notes hinting saltiness? It was the case for those few sticks i tried. And it quite apparent in the first few puffs. which goes away in a while. wierd... i think i gotta get my taste bud examined..
Colt45 Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 I tried my second of these today. It started out relatively the same as my first, creamy, with the sweet and sour spice, but as it progressed, it became more earthy with a core of robust tobacco. It was not "dry" like the first. The power on the other hand, is still there - not to be rushed! Really enjoyable, and while I have a few more, I lament that I didn't buy more to put away.
Spud2 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Just order a box of 97's, have smoked relatively young ones up till now.
cigarnv Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Nice review. The 05's are great cigars that IMO will be outstanding with 4-6 years of age. The best I have seen in the last 5 years!!
Mel Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I had another tight one the other night and I was not pleased normally these are great for me but have had a couple out of this new cab that were way to tight.:-| I'm not giving up my love or this cigar but have noticed a few flaws. Sort or reminds me of how after the honeymoon and a few years you notice some less than perfect things about the spouse.;-)
