Hello All,

I have around 650$ to spend on some cigars... I'm looking to buy some new brands/sizes that I've never tried.

I was thinking something along these lines (i've never tried any of these, so if you have feedback let me know!)

1- Vegas Robaina Unicos - High Quality

2- Bolivar Belicosos Finos

3- H Upmann Magnum 56

I'm also considering these

1- H upmann Sir Winston

2- Cohiba BHK 52

3- Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure No. 2

4- Partagas 8-9-8 Varnished

Any thought or other suggestions?

+1 for the Bolivar Belicoso Finos as it's a personal favorite of mine. Full-flavored cigar with a nice mixture of leather, spice and fruit.

Would you say it's similar to the Bolivar Royal Corona?

To get better suggestions you should also include the flavor profile you enjoy.

Good point...

I don't really have a specific flavor profile that I enjoy more. I smoke a wide range of flavors

Partagas D 4/serie P No 2

Cohiba Siglo II

Monte Edmundo & No. 2

El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supreme

Rass

Romeo Y Julietta Wide Churchill

Partagas Shorts

Those are all cigars that I really enjoy at the moment, If I would have to choose a fav, I guess it would be the Cohiba hay/grass/earthy taste that I prefer but not by much.

Personally, the two cigars are rather different. I found the Belicosos to be a bit more full-flavored than the RC, and that the spice/pepper notes in the RC was a bit more .... "subdued" ... which makes it more balanced of the two. Just my 2 cents.

My money would go towards a box each of the BHK52 and the Sir Winstons but since you haven't tried anything from your list, why not get a few singles of each to find out what you like most?

I'm not into buying singles, and from what I heard, the cigars that I am considering are pretty decent/consistent. Also, I have enjoyed some of their cigars but in different sizes

I'd start with the Unicos and Sir Winstons then probably grab the 898V. That should wipe the money out pretty quickly.

I'm will definitely get the VR Unicos & the Bolivar Belicosos Finos. I'm currently debating between the H Upmann mag 46 or Sir winston... I hear amazing things from both. I heard the Mag 46 are smoking fabulously at the moment... tough choice

I would suggest if you are relatively new to stick with the milder cigars...like a BRC... I had 2 '07 BBF cabs that were dog rockets...Tastes and pallet differ. I also don't care for the Mag 46 but love Sir Winnies, Unicos and 898's. For a big smoke try the Party Lusis...beautiful. But again, one mans trash is another mans treaure...Different strokes for different folks

I'm not sure if you meant to write Mag 46 or Mag 50 but I'll add that both are excellent cigars. The 46 is a bit stronger and the 50 has a bit more flavour range. Both are reasonably priced so you'll get more bang for your buck.

Of the cigars listed, my top three (in no particular oder) would be:

Upmann Sir Winston

Upmann Mag 46 (assuming you mean the 46)

Partagas 898V

If you're not looking to acquire boxes, you could always buy a pretty fair number of each on your list.

My choices would be:

H. Upmann Sir Winston

H. Upmann Mag 46 (or the 50 depending on which you meant)

Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure No. 2

Colt's advise to get a sampler of each on your list is also a most excellent idea as it would allow you to explore the various flavour profiles of each cigar that you are interested in.

My list in order would be the...

898v

Mag 46

Sir Winnies

Very interesting, the Sir Winston are obviously a fav around here. I'm a bit surprised that most of you left out the Vegas Robaina Unicos.

Oh and i meant the Mag 46

I will disregard your list.

Hoyo Epicure 1

Partagas 898

H Upmann #2

box of each will give you good range of sizes and flavors. VR Unicos are a favorite as well.

More bang for your buck...

898

H upmann 46's

Bolivar Belicoso's

...and can probably get these all for under $650 (75 sticks)

if you go for the Behike's and Sir Win's you may be a bit over your budget with only 35 sticks.

just my opinion..though...

From what you've listed BBFs are always good and I just ordered a cab of Epi 2s myself. for some things that are not on your list I'm just going to throw the Diplomaticos No2 (my favorite cigar) and the San Cristobal El Principe (cheap and fantastic) out there as a couple of my personal suggestions.

Alright...

here is the order I decided to go with. (one box of each)

1 Vegas Robaina Unicos HQ

2 Partagas 8-9-8 Varnished

3 Bolivar Belicosos Finos

3 pack tubes of Mag 46

3 pack tubes Siglo VI

Yes, this is definitely a bit more than I wanted to spend : ) but this always happens... i'm sure everyone here can relate.

They are currently out of Sir Winstons.... so that made things easier!

Thanks to everyone for the help!!! Much appreciated.
