Cigars on "The Chicago Code"

Just caught an episode of this new TV series tonight. In one scene the Police Superintendent's crooked Chief of Staff arrives for a secret meeting with the crooked Alderman to propose a bribe. He looks down at the coffee table, notices a box of cigars, and asks it he can have one. The Alderman says something like, "Sure, have one. They're Cuban". As the fellow reaches down to get one the camera reveals him opening a glass-top box of "Cohibas".

I burst out laughing and then explained to my wife about the glass-top scam. I wonder if the prop department went out and bought those thinking they were real?

Ha! My wife and I watched that tonight as well. I screamed when I saw the glass top box.

*shows they either don't have a technical advisor or the one they have SUCKS! Hey! I know how this show could have concluded...*bad guys backed into corner by undercover cop posing as corrupt politician, guns drawn, then confesses to backed bad guy..."Hey! Those Cubans by the way were FAKE!"

Sorry for the late reply. My Father-in-Law passed away last week and I've been busy consoling my wife and looking after the kids while she's tied up with details and family stuff.

Anyway, yes, we enjoyed the show... frankly, more than we really expected to. It's no "24" but it's entertaining. I think the protagonists are at least likable, even if not quite any more believable than the glass top box. And, I liked that while there were politics involved in the plot, the one episode I watched so far refrained from being preachy.
