jsd Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I reviewed this cigar for the Robusto review contest back in July. I was recovering from a tonsillectomy at the time so I wanted to do another review to see if I could notice any change in my palate. This cigar is from the same box, POS Feb 06. For this review I added a little Crown Royal to my Royal Crown while I smoked my Royal Corona. Pre-light aroma was cedar with a hint of spice, and the unmistakable aroma of the Habano. The draw is about as easy a draw as I can remember from a Habano. It's almost Padron Aniversario-esque. This cigar provides plumes of smoke with little effort, which I really enjoy. There are hints of espresso and toasted nuts. There is also a very subtle hint of pepper. The middle of this cigar has some cedar flavor. The espresso and spice are gone. A slight floral flavor has appeared. A slight touch-up was required here. The final third of this cigar is very floral. I think this flavor was there all along but masked somewhat by the espresso and cedar. It got hot at the end, probably as a result of the very easy draw. I was still able to smoke this cigar down as far as I normally do. For some reason I can't upload the final pic of the finished product. Well, I was impressed again with this cigar, but for a different reason. This time because I could notice changes in the flavors. Like I said in my first review, I either like a cigar of I don't. If a cigar is just okay I probably won't smoke it again. I enjoyed this cigar and am looking forward to my next one.
Tone_NY Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks for sharing your experience with my favorite cigar. For the most part I have only had a few BRCs over the years that have dissapointed. I'm also a fanatico of RCC.
Dbone Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 From my own experience, 2006 was an outstanding year for the BRC. I've had some '08s okay, '09 better but not what the '06's were. Great review! Love the complexity which can be found in these. Sounds like you have a great box to dig into there
cubanmule7 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Thanks for the update, I've had a couple in the humi for a few months and I look forward to having one soon based on your observations. When I do, I'll report back.
