I've always kept my cigar bands and have them in a cigar box. Recently, I started seeking some vintage cigar bands and decided to organize my cigar bands a bit by keeping them in a book similar to stamp collectors. Does any members here do this? If so, can you recommend a good album for cigar band collecting?

I am partially influenced by Dimitrii's collection on Trevor's website. I'd love to see other vintage bands if you wouldn't mind sharing.

I use the following book. It's the only 'good' option out there. IMHO. It allows you to paste bands and record a review of the cigar smoked.

Here's a link covering the same topic.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do remember reading that thread on the Dossier, however, I am looking for an album solely for keeping bands. As far as reviews, I keep an electronic copy on my computer.

It that case, I have not come across a 'cigar band' only book for collecting bands like you can get for stamps.

You could also try photo albums, the ones with the cellophane on top and the sticky boards. With the age of digital photos, not sure if they even have them anymore

I'm going to update my collection on Trevor's site. About some anillos I have comments and tales that I will publish here.

To be continued...

Cigarros, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that you might not want to glue your bands into or onto anything. It might limit their value to other collectors. If you do decide to glue them down, make sure the glue and paper support you use are both archival quality.

I don't use glue. This is a scanned picks of my shy collection of anillos. Traces of glue on the surface on some bands got me a legacy from those who smoked these cigars=)) My bands are stored in albums similar like for stamps :whisper:

Didn't mean to imply that you did.

I was speaking generically. Or trying to.

Trevor, I'm located in the USA.

I think I found a pretty nice stamp album that I'm going to use.

Looking forward to it!

Sorry, I have not carefully read the previous post. Of course, I understand your opinion. Just share them like parts of CC history...... Why not? :whisper:

*Once upon a time (14yrs. ago) I faithfully kept all my cigar bands in empty tall plastic coffee containers (down to only one - BIG- cup a day now). When I had to move back home, I had to get rid of all "contraband" type stuff! Gave them all away to a fellow BOTL. If they ever become safely collectibles, I'll know I've made him a rich-*****! Nowadays, I just stick 'em anywhere there's a spot.
