Onsto Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Rob, if you would consider doing samplers of these I'd love to try a few. Could live without the 'froofy' box though! In my dreams these would be like a richer, creamier, spicier Hoyo DC - if that's what Habanos has produced I'd be prepared to forgive the Housewives of New Jersey packaging...
cellinisart Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Rob when will you get them and how much? also do you think they will be any good?
El Presidente Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 Rob when will you get them and how much? also do you think they will be any good? Should be through in the next month to six weeks. No idea on price or weather they are average/good or great cigars at this time If we get sufficient stock I am always happy to do singles/samplers.
Jesuscookies Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 The recent hoyo's have been less than spectacular. Hopefully these will be a change. Maybe a review when they are available Prez?
CanuckSARTech Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Errrhhh. I'm iffy. The Epi 2 is agreeing with me right now (just ordered some from LFRH threads a bit ago). But.....errrhhh. I don't know if I can trust the consistency on these. I know it's just cosmetic maybe on this press release, but it doesn't inspire good faith in me when the promo picture from H S.A. above shows a hugely different colour palette to the wrappers on those cigars in the picture above. Most boxes with a slight variance are arranged left to right - not eeeny, meeny, miney, moe. Call me pessimistic, but it doesn't appear that the care was even taken with the preening and prep work for the photo.
asmith Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 The HDM Epicures of late have been rather tasty but I would prefer a little more consitance in regular production cigars rather than this limited editons.
Cooolish Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 These look awesome... Count me in for some. Please let me know when they come available.
armedak Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I'll pass. We don't need more stinkin.. kool-aid from the marketing hacks at Habanos S.A. As others have mentioned, how about more attention to the quality of production of the existing line.
rckymtn22 Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 The box is very attractive! Interested to hear or see a review
Tom Bolivar Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 The box is very attractive! Interested to hear or see a review Exactly my thoughts! Thanks for the nice update, Pres!
El Presidente Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 What a great idea! The Epicure-type blend in my favorite format -- the Double Robusto. And an attractive presentation that will travel well to boot. Kudos to HSA for listening to their customers and giving them what they want. Brilliant idea. Questions: 1. When will they be available from Cigar Czar? Press Release only came in over the weekend from HSA so expect a Christmas rollout 2. How will they be priced? no one has any idea yet and unlikely to until end of month at earliest. 3. Will the cigar be available in any other presentation? Or just this Travel Retail box? Just the Travel retail box at this point of time. If it is a roaring success HSA have a penchant of taking such things to regular production. thanks.
Smallclub Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Kudos to HSA for listening to their customers and giving them what they want. Brilliant idea. Someone really wanted and asked for a dobles when there's already a very good gordito, and in a showy white box like this?
Lotusguy Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Cool stuff! Is there any update regarding availability and pricing yet?
thechenman Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Hmmm...missed this post the first time around, but I have to say...it looks interesting.
Cig Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Have any of these arrived yet? Anyone tried them? I may be interested in a box if they're good.
Van55 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I don't consider that a "travel humidor;" I consider it a fancy wooden box. I wouldn't re-use it to carry loose cigars to an event. So the packaging does zero for me, and I would not pay extra for it.
