Hi popoziyat,

Yes, this cigar is well known here in France simply because it's a french creation AND

I would guess that's the reason why you don't hear about it in the states, LOL

The brand name is "El Septimo" and is made in Costa Rica.

The brand was created by Frenchman Gilles Botquin who is founder and head of "PROCIGAR"

Importing Co. in France.

They are beautiful and tasty cigars but lacking a bit of richness and body to really make them truly

stand out.

The company says that these cigars are made with a unique blend and also with a portion of "Cuban" tobacco.

One thing is for sure, they are really expensive, 30 to 80 Euros, depending on the vitola.

Here are a few links that I hope, may help :moon:

Guy, the cnbc article also states that they are made with a blend of Cuban tobacco. I wonder, do they mean they acquire tobacco from

Cuba for their cigars, or do they mean Cuban seed tobacco, and are being intentionally ambiguous?

Either way, they definitely seem to be on the "wider is better" bandwagon B)

Ross, I see what you mean but it's not the case. On an article in a magazine, the owner,

Gilles Botquin was very explicit in specifying that all his tobacco was cuban seed tobacco

and not acquired tobacco from Cuba as I thought after reading the CNBC interpretation.

Here is the article, I hope you can read french, sorry!!!!! B)

See where he said,

les cigares El Septimo – tous les tabacs étant issus de grains

cubains – s’adressent aux vrais aficionados.

Thanks Guy - that's what I figured, but I've learned not to assume anything :cigar:

Gosh, Colt, what-ever do you mean???

Do you mean, gasp, that some manufacturers (thinking about sales and money) would intentionally be ambiguous in the difference between "Cuban seed tobacco" and "Cuban tobacco"??!?! Say it isn't so!!!!

:cigar::clap:

[Not saying that Gilles Botquin would do this, though.]
