mhartnett Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 In the video review for the Coronas Gigantes, El Pres said the CG is basically the Corona Extra in a larger format. Do others find this to be true? I smoked a CG today, but for both price and time reasons, I'd prefer to purchase the CEs, if they really are that similar. Thoughts?

Well, they're both Bolivars, so I guess they're similar in flavor profile. But I find the CE to be much fuller in body, and they show more earth and pepper in the flavor profile.

bassman Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Also agree the CE is fuller & stronger, though the CG is a darn good cigar. Both are staples in my smoking rotation, with multiple cabs of CEs from 02, 06 & 07 and CGs from 97, 03 & 06.
Wicky Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Both outstanding cigars. Both clearly Boli flavor. If I had to choose between them (God forbid), I'd have to go CE. More bang for the buck. And completly satisfying when you don't have time for the churchill.
