Well, for Father's Day fesivities a less distracting smoke may be desired so as not to appear too disinterested in your family/company, etc. And I'm certain various persons very young & so on, may try to present you with a drug store Cuesta Rey or "Real Tobacco Dutch Masters!" advertised items!!! Try to look impressed and grateful! They love you and think they've really gone all out for you!

I guess my real question was... what cuban cigar do you think should be offered to "new" smokers?

Def Montes. They are the most recognizable brand (that you named) which will impress casual smokers. They also are the cheapest and smallest of the three so its less of an annoyance when someone does not finish or puts the cigar out early. And they are still a classic cigar that regular smokers will appreciate and enjoy.
