El Presidente Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 To me it sounds like a hell of a lot of work Ram-raid nets handful of cigars By AARON LEAMAN - Waikato Times http://www.stuff.co.nz/waikato-times/news/...ndful-of-cigars Thieves caused about $14,000 damage in a ram-raid at a Hamilton dairy early on Saturday morning, making off with a handful of cigars. Alarms were set off about 3am at Queenwood Dairy as a car crashed its way into the shop. A staff member said the thieves got in through the smashed doorway and stole $100 worth of cigars. The dairy remained open over Queen's Birthday Weekend after builders covered the damaged store front with plywood cladding. The dairy manager understood police had arrested two men and two youths as a result of the incident. Earlier this year thieves caused about $20,000 damage in a ram-raid at a Hillcrest dairy. They got away with a box of beer.
FlyFishingDude Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Is this something unique to your part of the world, cigars and beer in a dairy? All we have in a dairy is cows.........

MIKA27 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Ditto Would love to hear the Kiwi explanation...... Does it involve velcro gloves and sheep?
Fuzz AI Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Ditto Would love to hear the Kiwi explanation...... According to the Dunedin City Council website, a "dairy" is Enzedder for corner shop. I'm guessing they've had a lot of strange looks from tourists trying to figure out kiwi slang. http://www.dunedin.govt.nz/services/newcom...zealand-slang#d

Warren Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I used to live with Kiwi girl. We would often put our jandles on and trundle off down to the dairy for some Hokey Pokey and a can of L&P. Cheers Bro.

LeafLover Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Apparently the thieves knew about the owner's prized collection of Gurkha, Arganese,Cugine and Te Amo cigars.
