i have to say I agree with you in relation to the woody note of the Dieux I have always enjoyed. In this tasting however, the sweetness was so intense it became the defining charachter.

Maybe Vanilla Extract on the rocks is the wrong beverage pairing for the Des Dieux, Rob. :)

great review - very much enjoy the the des dieux. Funnily enough found them quite peppery when I first tried them back in 2000 or so.

Guy must be cringing every time you say 'dez' dieux....:cigar:

and to our friend in hong kong, you could hardly wound rob more than by pointing out his pronounciation deficiencies. he is very proud of what he thinks is correct. it was like sitting next to pepe le pew for an afternoon.

The comments remind me of one of the best cigars I ever tried, an aged HDM Du Roi....same sweetness, blew me away on how good it really was.
