FireDigger Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Here is an interesting chart on this subject: http://www.economist.com/daily/chartgaller...ory_id=15581140
Colt45 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Interesting chart. I'm not sure whether to think of the timeline markers as factors, or simply as markers in time - perhaps a combination. I'd have to believe that today, smoking regulations and prices / taxes are a fairly large factor.

ucla695 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Interesting graph. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this ==> But with talk of Barack Obama lifting the world’s longest-standing trade embargo, imports of fine Cuban smokes might give cigars another boost.
samb Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I would think if anything the internet revolution would bring an increase in cigar smoking.
Ken Gargett Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 http://www.economist.com/daily/chartgaller...e=features_box4 thanks for that. and worth reading some of the cooments readers have posted. wonder if we'll ever have a brazilian ciagr forum?
FireDigger Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 I would think if anything the internet revolution would bring an increase in cigar smoking. Good point, the growth of online purchases did not seem to lead to an increase in consumption. Or maybe the data does not account illegal post embargo CCs?
