PADDYWHACK121272 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Heading to Dusseldorf and Cologne for a few days - work related - anyone have any tips for decent bars where a cigar can be enjoyed? Any good cigar stores would be appreciated too.. Thanks
finecigar Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 In Dusseldorf, there is a nice/classy hotel (Breidenbacher Hof- a Capella Hotel). I think they have a website. Anyhow, they have a beautiful bar/ cigar lounge with a walk in humidor. I assume the prices would be high any time of the year but I was not sure what specifically you are looking for- in terms of price. Also in Dusseldorf, there is many different cigar stores like a Casa del Habano Dusseldorf, and another called "cigar world"- many reliable and authentic sellers. You have picked a good spot to go! For Cologne, I am not sure of a place. But they are relatively close so go with the ones mentioned. Hope that helps!
Nino Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 In Düsseldorf there is only one place where you will find both an incredible selection of cigars as well as a fine lounge where to enjoy cigars, rum, drinks and good company, that is Cigarworldlounge Benden - see: http://www.cigarworldlounge.de/public/ Trust me, you'll like it, especially the service by owners Marc & Patricia Benden, young and very professional. Another good lounge and store is Linzbach in central Düsseldorf. I would not encourage you to visit the small & not very friendly LCDH or the Davidoff lounge. Nino

Coloniales Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Thanks Nino, heading to DUS twice next month myself. Will check out the locations. Keith.
Habana Mike Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Linzbach in Dusseldorf is a very nice shop. Decent selection in a well kept humidor, comfortable lounge in the back with good rums and coffees. If you strike it up with Werner you may even end up in the cigar cellar.......
AlexOk Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 For your journey it is too late, but for everyone else, I can recommend the Casa del Habanos Cologne. http://www.la-casa-del-habano.com/ There is a nice lounge in the basement. I am at least once a month there.
Nino Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Alex, I can confirm your rating of the Cologne Casa del Habano (Peter Heinrich's ). Had the pleasure of spending half a day there with friends the other day and it was an amazing experience, superb selection and a fantastic owner. We have agreed to meet there more often ... :-)) Here's my report : http://www.flyingcigar.de/smoking_cigars/2012_02_cigars_in_cologne.php Nino
