Bartolomeo Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 -Perfect construction, slick oily wrapper, perfect weight, best looking cigar I have smoked in a while -Pre draw is clean tobacco -Big fan of the double robusto size -Citrus/floral cream greet me in initial puff -I think the Mag 46 are a little better now but the Mag 50 will be a sleeper in some years, better potential for the Mag 50 -Very woody, sticky-sweet aftertaste of cream with some leather, sort of muted in 1/3, remembered this being a little better from a previous smoke -Very smooth smoke, everything flows nicely, flavors pick up at end of 1/3 -Sharp burn with no aftertaste, mostly clean tobacco is the dominant flavor so far, which is not a bad thing -2/3 has more clean tobacco, dried fruits, roasted coffee…….full of flavor at this point, vast improvement over 1/3 -I am loving this cigar, love the flavors, love the size, love the potential -Finish is fantastic and clean, distinct flavors -Really enjoyed the moment with this cigar, highly recommended to buy a box and sit on them -9.15/10 with potential of 9.3-9.4 in years to come Bart
Habanos2000 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I concur with your points on the M50 Bart. I still like this cigar but also think the M46 is something extra special.
android Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I love these as well and it's good to see that they are well liked by others.
mbrody Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Great review Bart. I had a 10'er that was lame, and recently a Tubo that was brilliant! Looking for a great box to sample and sit on... Rather different than the Mag 46, IMO (but I also love the 46).
ksblazer Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Nice review. I'm a big fan of the 08 Magnum 50's and enjoy the double robusto size as well. Need to re-visit the Mag 46's as I haven't smoked one in a while.
