stargazer14 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 anyone want to get together for a smoke in the new snow tomorrow? I was supposed to go up Thursday but we are about to get another 18inches starting tonite so I thought I'd get a head start before the trains are canceled!
stargazer14 Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 Beautiful in the city today with heavy snow, headed to Beekman on 73rd for a drink and cigar, I'll let you know how it is...
stargazer14 Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Back home, hit a few places for a cigar, some nice, some more like a dunkin donuts with a humidor. Will give an update after I unpack!
Habana Mike Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Getting to NYC on occasion I have found a few places you can still enjoy a smoke with the libation of your choice. One I enjoy in particular is Merchants on 1st at 62nd. Restaurant upstairs, lounge below. Live jazz, comfortable accomodations and a well stocked bar in a casual environment. Lex Bar & Books is nice for a relaxed afternoon/evening. Minimal menu and limited seating but quality product and service. Carnegie Club is always an option though a bit stuffier than some of the others. Used to frequent Florio's when in lower Manhattan. While no longer offering smoking in the bar as of a few months ago, I was pelasantly surprised last time I ventured that way as when I mentioned we had come for a smoke and a drink we were directed through a back hallway up some stairs to a private club with a 'well stocked' humidor.... Of course there's the Club Macanudo - never been though, and Havana Club if you are or know a member. A couple of others as well but these are my regular stops.
