  1. I've always heard that those green spots are caused by moisture. Could be from rain or just excess moisture in the process.
  2. Welcome aboard! I work in downtown LB.
  3. I should know better than to drink coffee while reading your posts. Thanks Shlomo, I needed a laugh..... And a new keyboard.
  4. The non CC's that I like more than anything; Fuente OpusX XXX Belicoso, E.P. Carrillo Elencos "Don Rubino", Illusione Epernay Le Taureau and Le Matin, Camacho Corojo, Viaje Oro Reserva, cost too much or I would probably smoke them exclusively. Thank God regular production Cuban cigars are reasonably priced.
  5. I've been smoking them for many years and they have always been consistent. The taste has actually been really good for 2010. I bought a 2011 box a few months ago and I spotted some green spots the size of a dime on one and I found a few white spots (not plume or mold) on a couple others. Seems to me that QC has gone down a bit but it could just be my luck.
  6. I have a 300 sq ft enclosed patio that I turned into a man cave - I smoke in there and no one bothers me... Much.
  7. Charcoal. I smoke a lot of different meats and coal is the best IMO.
  8. I read somewhere that the reason for the disparity of NC's vs. CC's is due to the fact that the NC tobacco is aged for many years before production, but the CC tobacco is rushed due to demand, therefore it needs more age to be at it's best (unlike the NC's). Remember that all of the cigars tested in 20011 were also produced in 2011. How many 2011 CC's smoke their best ROTT? That's what I read and if it's true, it makes perfect sense.
  9. Jim, I live in Orange and I appreciate the information. Another one is Taps in Brea. I meet up with a few of my BOTL's there once in a while.
  10. Now I feel like that crazy e-mail friend who sends countless conspiracy tales every day.

  12. Take a few minutes and give this a listen... I promise you will be glad you did. It changed my life and I'm sure he inspired many others - perhaps you will be inspired as well. http://www.breitbart.tv/braveheart-screenwriter-randall-wallace-at-national-prayer-breakfast/
  13. Old Man in the Theatre An old man lay sprawled across three entire seats in the movie theater. When the usher came by and noticed this, he whispered to the old man, “Sorry sir, but you’re only allowed one seat.” The old man groaned but didn’t budge. The usher became more impatient. “Sir, if you don’t get up from there I’m going to have to call the manager.” Once again, the old man just groaned. The usher marched briskly back up the aisle, and in a moment he returned with the manager. Together the two of them tried repeatedly to move the old disheveled man, but with no success. Finally they summoned the police. The officer surveyed the situation briefly then asked, “All right buddy what’s your name?” “Fred,” the old man moaned. “Where ya from, Fred?” asked the police officer. With terrible pain in his voice, and without moving a muscle, Fred replied, "the balcony……"
  14. Hello Diana, Welcome aboard... You did great on my order (as messed up as it was - thanks to me) and you managed to fix my mistake and get it out. Thanks again!
  15. Yep. One of my golf buddies brought me back some Behike 52's- aka "Befakes" that he bought in the Bahamas last year. I told him before he went that I would only pay if he buys them at a LCDH… So he bought them at a hotel shop. I took his word for it and it cost me 200 for a box split. As soon as he showed me my split of 12 cigars (I was planning on 5) I knew we were in trouble. That's how I found Trevors site and a few forums. I read everything I could find online regarding counterfeit BHK's so I could convince my friend that he bought fakes. I even promised not to ask for a refund and he still didn't believe me. It was only until I found that story on CA and had him watch all 3 videos that he realized they were crap. He smokes them anyways and loves them… I dissected afew, pitched a few and smoked a few. They taste decent and the construction was very good. One good thing came out of all of this… I now feel comfortable buying on line and it's a lot cheaper than buying from the TJ LCDH.
  16. Trevor, Your site is THE most informative CC site on the web. Thank you for setting it up and keeping it going. I would still be smoking Monte 2's exclusively if it weren't for your efforts. I've learned so much CC info, thanks to you, that I now have no fear buying a variety of cigars since I have a great reference. If you throw in the towel, I understand but just know that I, and many thousands, truly appreciate your hard work. Thanks again.
  17. I remember one day (a couple years ago) it got all the way down to 40* F here in So Cal... We all thought we were going to die. We had to buy these big jackets stuffed with real feathers... I hope I never have to wear that thing again.
  18. I'm a simple man when it comes to Bourbon... Scotch is another story. 1) Jack DanielsSingle Barrel 2) Knob Creek 3) Jack Daniels Gentleman Jack 4) Maker's Mark 5) Jack Daniels Black Label
  19. The embargo is more than likely here to stay. The embargo was codified into law in 1992, with the stated purpose to maintain sanctions on Cuba so long as the Cuban government continues to refuse to move toward "democratization and greater respect for human rights"... That change will probably never happen in my lifetime and even if Cuba somehow starts to change, it will surely be subjective as to the degree of democratization and human rights that will be acceptable to the US. The Cuban-American Lobby will insist that Cuba is 100% free and has changed110% regarding human rights... That's never going to happen IMO. The Cuban-American Lobby will never be satisfied and they will continue to lobby to keep the embargo/law in effect. Remember, their votes are crucial inthe swing state of Florida. Bottom line, every President will continue to extend the embargo and kick the can down the road to avoid a conflict with the Cuban-American lobby. Obama just kicked the can last month for another year and another President.
  20. Neat is the only way I can really get the full flavor... And it lasts longer.
  21. Darksky, It's a very common practice for counterfeiters to go into a LCDH shop and copy the codes of authentic Cuban warranty seals and then easily counterfeit the seal with the copied code deeming all the counterfeit boxes that they slapped a seal on as genuine and authentic. That would explain the "weird date stamp". I'm not saying this is your case but it happens all the time.
