  1. Rob both of the following were first experiances with these, here are my limited notes. Hoyo DC, Box date unknown, smoke July 26th. Beautiful maduro wrapper, fine tooth, solid ash, excellent burn with only one touchup. The smoke was medium and the flavor very mild for the first 2 inches. At 2 inches I got a good shot of pepper and thought yahoo maybe this is going to develope, but no. This cigar had a mild fruit / raisin and tobacco through out and really didn't change for the full 1 1/2 hrs. A good cigar, I just expected more based on it's rep. Partagas Lusitania, Box MRB Dec 06, smoked August 6th. Started with sweet spice from the start and worked into exotic spice and licorice hints great cigar in every way. Smoke was very full and smooth. This was the first Lusi I’ve tried from a box putchased from LCDH shop in Varadero in May. I must save these for very special times.
  2. » You know, I've always enjoyed the Salmones with a couple years of age on » them. Thanks Dig, my wife and I are thinking of a trip to Havana in the new year, if so I'll look around for some with some age to try while there.
  3. Digi, Thanks for the review and good photos. I still haven't read anything which has me really driven to try any of the Cuabas, and I certainly can't see myself spending three hours with one cigar. If you were to recommend a Cuaba as an introduction to the brand which would you chose. I believe I read a review by El Prez sometime back on a Cuaba, I think it might have been a Generoso. The review was quite entertaining although not so flattering to the cigar. His last photo said it all.
  4. We watched the Dodgers stumble their way to a painful loss to the Angels, » watching all of LA on parade on a hot day, bloated mammaries and the » intentionally dressed down wealthy and famous in the front box seats where » we sat, the land of a million degrees of sunshine and ten dollar beers (and » six dollar bottled waters!) Great reviews and great writing, thanks. I was thinking he may be related to Tom Waites
  5. Awesome set up Shrink, as well as an amazing selection. Bravo
  6. Awesome review Rob, I'm wondering if you feel the fact that it is a Maduro leaf vs the Robustos or if you think the aging of the wrapper leaves may have been the reason for the difference between them (40% vs 20%). I read on Trevors site the Maduro wrappers are aged 5 years, how long would the Robustos leaf be aged?
  7. Thanks Trevor, as always excellent job keeping things current.
  8. Thanks for the review Mike, I've not tried either yet, although I have some SDC#3 samples on the way that I'll probably try in a few months. Up North we don't want to be out on the patio for a long time in the winter months, so am sampling various smaller sized cigars. After reading your review I'll have to add the RASCC to the next order I place with Lisa.
  9. Here a few that come to mind, Frank Zappa, most anything, one of the greatest composers and guitar masters imho. If you’re a fan and “Zappa Plays Zappa” comes to your town Dweezil has put together a show that would make his father proud. Saw the show in Vancouver this past Dec, band included Steve Vai, Napolean, Terry B and the whole show was tight as H_ll. As for some FZ favorite guitar tunes, “Black Napkins”, “Zoot Allures”, “Hot Rats” whole album, “Crew Slut” some great back ground picking, along with some great harmonica, “St. Etienne”, “The Grand Wazoo”. Other greats IMO, Pete Townsend, Eminance Front, Teenage Wasteland Carlos Santana one of a kind Guitar Great. Neil Young, “Cinnamon Girl”, “Cortez The Killer”, “Keep On Rockin In The Free World” Lou Reed, “Busload Of Faith” Joe Walsh, “Rocky Mountain Way” Jimi Hendrix, “Hear My Train A Comin”, “The Wind Cries Mary” Nirvana, “Come As You Are”, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Doobie Brothers, “For Someone Special”
  10. Hoyo Petit Robusto Partagas Short Cohiba Siglo 1 Cohiba Siglo 2 These four offer variety as well as are all shorter smoke times. All have a spot in my rotation.
  11. Congrats on the anniversary Trevor, I've found the site an awesome resource as others have mentioned and the addition of the inches in decimals on your Bolivar page works great for us Canucks. Thanks for a one of a kind site. PS: Perhaps if we all inundated Habano SA on Trevors behalf maybe they might gift him a box or two for this fine job he's done? RandallP
  12. Thanks for the review, and for breaking the rule just this one time.
  13. I have to be sparing with these as my box is a 3-4-3 from Dec 05, but of the two I've had, I'm a believer. A few nights ago tried a second of the Connie #1 from Sept 06 and I think I need to leave these alone for a good spell, although I think these may be another contender for possible favorite Partagas.
  14. » 1. You can only take 5 cigars. » 2. Mo more than two of the same vitola. » 3. No more than 1 Churchill or DC. 1. Hoyo Petit Robusto 2. Bolivar Corona Giantes 3. Bolivar Royal Corona 4. Partagas Short 5. Partagas 898
  15. I thing of Beauty, well done.
  16. Thanks for the review Rob. And although I'm new to the forum I've already had a few good laughs as well as learned a lot. Great site.
  17. Wonderful review, I recieved a 5 pack in a sampler in Jan and look forward to trying this even more now. Thanks
  18. One of the regular cigars I enjoy when time is pressing. The 05's I have are from Dec and are smoking great now.
  19. Great review thanks, although I've only enjoyed the 02's, a favorite of mine also.
