  1. Great post. The Old Fashioned is one of my favorite drinks. Have you tried the Luxardo Maraschino cherries?
  2. I'll take one when they're ready. Looks great!
  3. Welcome to FOH!
  4. Welcome Scott!
  5. They are definitely not obsolete. An enormous number of cigar smokers don't even own a humidor. They simply go to the local tobacconist and pick up a few sticks for that evening or weekend. I would guess this is the majority of cigar smokers. I've talked with countless individuals at football tailgates who are smoking cigars. Most of them don't own humidors and the majority are shocked that you can order actual CC's from the internet. For them, purchasing a humidor is a big decision. If I told them to build a coolidor to store their boxes they would look at me like I was from Mars. It's the same thinking when it comes to wine. Millions of people buy wine for that evening or weekend. Buying a wine fridge only applies to a very small minority.
  6. I would love to try anything from Three Floyd's Brewing. Unfortunately, they don't distribute out here to the PNW. I'm surprised you were able to find some in Colorado Springs.
  7. This is a topic that comes up every so often on various cooking/travel shows (No Reservations, etc.). What would be the last meal that you would want to eat before passing on? For most of us, we don't know that a particular meal is going to be our last. It's always interesting to see what people choose. Some of us want a meal that reminds us of a special place or person in our lives. Several people choose something that their mother would cook when they were a child. Regardless, everyone has their reasons, but here's mine: Caprese Salad Ribeye Steak (medium rare) w/carmelized onions Bottle of Caymus (California Cabernet) Carrot Cake w/cream cheese frosting
  8. St. Elmo's in Indianapolis, Indiana. It's a classic steakhouse, but it's the company that makes it so special. My college friends get together every few years and we always meet at this restaurant. You can't beat the shrimp cocktail!!!
  9. I've had this cigar a few times, but I seem to remember it costing more than it should. I don't think it's in the same league as an Opus X, but it's definitely a good smoke.
  10. I absolutely love tarpon fishing, but I think I'll stick to the safety of a flats boat. Having my legs dangling like that would make me a litle nervous.
  11. Welcome to FOH!
  12. North Coast Brewing Company - Red Seal Ale (It tasted even better than normal since the Seahawks won!)
  13. It's been a long time since I had a Diplomaticos No. 2, but I do remember it making quite an impression. I was relatively new to smoking CC's at the time. I was on a trip with a few friends in Windsor, Ontario. We made a stop at the local LCDH and a Diplomaticos No. 2 was the cigar I picked up. Later that night, I was sitting in the bar and thinking how amazing that cigar was. When the cigar ended, I immediately regretted not buying more cigars earlier. I left my friends and ran back over to the store to buy another Diplomaticos No. 2. I came back to join my friends and enjoyed the second cigar just as much as the first. Great night!
  14. Give Springbank 18 a try if you can find it.
