  1. I smoke 2-3/day. The number of cigars I keep on hand is a bit excessive.
  2. Old enough to not be date stamped.
  3. I have way too many boxes from '99-'01 were rolled like tent pegs as well as many lonsdales from '98. Probably 50/50 from those years. After that, it's just an occasional problematic release (got 4-5 boxes of the '06 PL Lonsdale ER release that are unsmokable). I don't think I've run across any 40+ rg cigars since '06 that were really tight.
  4. Most reliable: 2000 Jaguar XKR (hard to believe) - only problems I've had in 18 years are related to the convertible top. Lemon: 1998 Audi A8 - so many things broke on the darn car and all were an expensive nightmare to fix.
  5. I've been tracking on Excel for the past 15 years. I include box count, number smoked and number remaining. Once you've set up a spreadsheet, it only takes about 10 seconds a night to enter your changes. I only track Cuban cigars and I don't track singles or gifted cigars. According to my spreadsheet, I've smoked 3896 Cuban cigars...
  6. A lot of diverse opinions here... I really like them, though I've had a few that were too loosely rolled. I put a Boveda pack on top of the cedar insert and it holds the humidity level for many months at a time.
  7. I used (chewed) bubblegum. It does shrink a little when it dries, so you need to plan for that.
  8. "there" not "their"
  9. My favorite reasonably priced marca. The Royal Robusto is pretty good as well.
  10. Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!
  11. I smoke 2-3 a night. As above, strong beverages refresh my palate. I always have a soda as well as a scotch. If my palate seems flat, a small piece of chocolate (even just a Hershey Kiss) often helps.
  12. I generally find the ELs to be better construction and taste than regular production, but whether they are worth the price premium is a personal call.
  13. #2 tubos are nice, but I like the Cedros de Luxe #3 quite a bit (although I have found a number to be surprisingly tight).
  14. Thanks for posting this review; I've often wondered if this movie was worth watching.
  15. That's an inconceivably awesome prize! Can't imagine a more enticing offer.
  16. Thought about you often in the past few weeks. So glad to see you've maintained your terrific attitude through very difficult times.
  17. "I only read it for the jokes and interviews..."
  18. I've seen it too. I assumed it was simply an improper setting on the stamp. Like the '98 FPGs which were stamped "FP9". Yippie! I've finally hit 100 posts!
  19. Got thousands of bands saved (I toss them into big glass vases and they look pretty cool), never noticed any writing...
  20. Agreed. Rapid changes in temp can be difficult to a cigars construction.
  21. That is fantastic news! My heartfelt congratulations. Now you should take it easy and not work too hard.
  22. I really, really like these video reviews. For this week's video review, could you comment as to how these compare to your recollection of the German-release PL Lonsdale? Also, compare to regular production PLPCs and offer a little comment on the recent evolution of PLPCs? It would be fun if you highlighted/displayed a few other items while you are smoking; for example, maybe there is a cool ashtray or lighter or humidor you can show us...
