Wide Churchills. A new Churchill for Romeo y Julieta.

• Wide Churchills is the name of the new vitola presented by Habanos s.a. in the Romeo y Julieta brand.

• Its special dimensions, unique in this Habanos vitola, make Wide Churchills a particularly attractive Habano for those smokers who appreciate the Habanos of heavy ring gauge and a balanced and aromatic blend.

Romeo y Julieta was created as Habanos brand in 1875. Its name originates in the literary tragedy of the same name written by William Shakespeare.

With the passing of the years, Romeo y Julieta has become one of the best known and appreciated Habanos brands, to a great extent due to the prestige that the “Churchills” vitola has contributed to it.

The name “Churchills” brings to our minds a whole imagery of the Habano and its history. Winston Churchill was one of the most devoted smokers of the Romeo y Julieta brand. Since his visit to Havana in 1946, his name was not only used in Habanos rings, but granted to one of the best known vitolas of the brand and of Habanos: Churchills of Romeo y Julieta brand.

In 2006, a new vitola called ShortChurchills was added to the portfolio of the brand which, with the evolution of consumer habits, rapidly became a very successful one.

In 2010, Habanos, S.A. presents a new vitola in the Romeo y Julieta portfolio that includes historical name Wide Churchills. We hope that this format, unique in the Habanos range because of its dimensions, will be rapidly accepted by the smokers. When smoking this heavy ring gauge, the brand enthusiast will have the possibility to appreciate its balanced and aromatic blend, prepared with selected leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region.

Today Romeo y Julieta enjoys great prestige throughout the world and offers one of the most extensive range of sizes in Habanos brands, all totally hand made with long filler, now enriched with the Wide Churchills vitola. This new vitola will delight the true enthusiasts of Romeo y Julieta in an exquisite combination of passion and excellence.

Had one the other day. Germany released them last week and couldn't wait.

This is a big cigar, a jawbreaker.

I am also interested what Rob and Smithy will think of this cigar. I found it one-dimensional.

I tried a new release RyJ not long ago. It was a tiny thing, and apparently market towards girls. That was a great little cigar! Do you have any of those yet?

Because they're thin gauge or because they're marketed towards girls?

The name is deceptive, one would have thought it would be a fat stick that was the length of a churchill, not a fat short churchill. They should have called it the short fatty

Another board member reviewed on a diff board and said these were duds - underfilled, no taste. Hoping he is wrong but hasnt been. Was looking forwad to them. Looking forward to a video review.

Exactly! This bloody thing is not a Churchill and it's cheapening the name to call it one. Same with the Short.

I smoke alot of Cohiba's .... siglo I, II and VI's , robustos, exquisitos and secretos but have always liked R&J but havent had many good ones over the last couple years....... I bought a 10 count of the R&J wide churchill's and smoked one right outta the box .........wasnt very impressed infact kinda depressed.......... smoked my second one today, which has sat for about 10 days in the humi, and I have to tell you im very excited ! It was excellent with smooth flavors of cherry and chocolate with a spicy finish. Im going to smoke another when I get home from the office today. Mine have med brown wrapper color with nice oil sheen to them. The construction is perfect. I used a regular cigars cutter on the first one but punched the second. Draw was EXCELLENT on both. Im new here but love the site and the great group of people on it.

My favorite everyday smokes are cohiba exquisitos and secretos.

Thanks
