Guibou
Ok we had a great win against the boks, yes. But with the french, you never know what will happen next....
bunburyist
Don't think the Samoans stand much of a chance, France just have too much, all across the field. For those who don't follow rugby, and wonder why nations like France, England and Australia even bother playing tiny islands like Samoa, Tonga and Fiji....those boys were born to play rugby. They don't often turn over the bigger (ironic) sides, but you get to see a fair amount of this (Samoa vs S. Africa): Luckily for France, Brian 'The Chiropractor' Lima has retired... Couple minutes of your time, but the slo-mo at the end.....''up over halfway he goeOOOOOOOHS!!!!!''
Ken Gargett
had forgotten that one. great hit. did you see the palu tackle on the weekend? i'm no fan of palu but he can pull off some top tackles and that, to me, was one. to get 10 minutes was disgraceful. i really, really have no respect for kaplan. worst ref since clive norling. i have a feeling that one of the top games of the 03 world cup was france v samoa at brizzy. if it is the one i am thinking of, a heap of big hits and some serious ill feeling. the kiwis have long used players from the islands to bolster their ranks and we have had a few as well. some may remember ilie tabua who played a number of tests for us. known as the human skewer. bunburyist
depends on your interpretation I suppose. Techincally, it was shoulder to head contact but...that's what happens if you enter the tackle upright with the ball first, and on the wrong side! Kearney should have had the ball under his right arm, so he could have tried the fend-off. Happens a lot with backs running into big blokes. Probably would have said a penalty, just, but defo no card. You can tell when players are trying to injure in the tackle, and that wasn't one of them. Besides, Kearney was up and away after a few seconds anyway, no harm done. Looks like the matches this weekend will be at bit one-sided. Am hoping England will turn up against the Kiwis, but.....and this is sacriligeous....if England scrape a win it will prolong the dire management setup we have even longer, so I'm actually not too fussed. Just no more kick-tennis please!
bunburyist
In fact, looking at that again...even a penalty is a bit harsh.

Guibou
and I agree those Islanders are BIG boys, and quick and strong to match Agreed but not quick at all... Well obviously we were waaaay quicker and as strong as them... Even a high tackle on Swarszewski did not seem to bother ! I love it SOOOO much when the hooker scores !!!! Now, let's get serious.... Next week is another story
