Hi folks,

I had a questions-which may have an obvious answer- but thought I'd throw it out there to confirm my hunch. It appears that the only Ramon Allones band that has any detail is the one used on the Specially Selected--the others seem quite plain with no definition or embossment. I am just imagining this or is this the case? Moreoever, if it is the case then why--to separate/make the RASS stand out more from other Ramon Allones vitolas?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

It seems these bands can be somewhat inconsistent -- for instance, check out this thread:

I've an '05 box of RASS that have the embossed bands "proper" for that vintage.

I've an '07 box of RASCC that have very little embossing - none on the coat of arms at all. It's possible that in this case it's due to the

smaller band size and the associated difficulty in registration during the printing / embossing process - that's a simple guess.

'06 and '07 boxes of Estupendos show the latest fully embossed bands - very detailed.

As Sam has mentioned, if you haven't already, check out Trevor's fine site.

I have several boxes of RASS from various years and the embossing is very inconsistent. I have a box of 07 RASS that has virtually no embossing whatsoever. There is a review in the review thread of an 07 RASS. Check out the pictures on there an you will see what I mean. I will say that out of all that I have smoked, the 07s with the ugly band are the best that I've had.

Ive smoked a bunch of RASS this past yr, all with crappy bands. At first, I thought I was getting fakes. Then I did some searching on this site, and realized the inconsistencies with the RA bands. I actually stumbled on the link that Colt posted, check it out.
