Gday all,

I've really enjoyed the foh community the last few months, and made to feel very welcome despite my newbie status, and thought I would try my hand at a review. Bit of a commemoration for my family's recently passed patriarch, and a cigar smoker in his day. Thanks for the well wishes in a previous thread. Had the wake yesterday and enjoyed catching up with some family friends, one family of which has moved down from Perth a few years ago and worked hard to establish a ripper little winery down in Pemberton by the name of 'Lost Lake'.

Box Code - no idea, bought in a small pack from czar during a recent sale but all the talk was of 08 Coro's at the time.

Construction- looked good, kind of a tan/khaki colour, very thin wrapper, good foot.

Pre-light - Hay and light cow pat (in a good way haha)

1st 3rd - opened very strong. pepper and a bit of a lemony kick. after a few puffs that barnyard from the pre-draw came through with some salt and pepper. even a bit of an "animal" kind of sweaty taste (again, sounds wierd but was very pleasant).

After an inch it settled into med-full body with same flavours as open, but some bakehouse flavours coming into the mix. Ok this might be a bit of a bs flavour but got some pavlova cake in there too. thick bluish smoke, very creamy. bit of RASS about it, but a step up for sure.

2nd- Along with the lemon/pepper and the bakehouse/hay flavours some cloves and leather made its way in. Most of the middle of the cigar was these 3 distinct flavour profiles swapping and taking turns to come to the foreground.

3rd- more of the same but probably a bit muted, more just straight rich tobacco/pepper and creamy smoke. slight ammonia (but not bad).

Burn and draw- draw was perfect, burnt a little uneven but no troubles at all.

Paired with - coffee from a local french cafe. I'm guessing this cigar would go well with just about anything. As a guess I would say some bubbly would be best. ??

Score - 92/93. loved it! everyone seems to

Thanks again

Dicko

Thanks for the review. It's interesting to see how we all get different things from these. I have smoked a few 08's over the past few days and found them to have little grassiiness, mostly toast and bean flavors. Quite pleasant and should do well with a few years.

Nice review mate.

Its great that everyone draws their own opinions on the flavours a good cigar can bring. "Pavlova" , an honest taste/sense from ones palette. ;)

sometimes these are the reviews that bring fourth ones curiosity to try a particular Cigar.
