Bartolomeo Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Wrapper was more dry than oily, some veins, molted looking maybe Little bit of canoing at the beginning but then the burn evened out Burn and Draw were easy Ash was Grey flakes but then was tighter as cigar went on Easy pre draw, sort of dry tasting I would say this is a solid Med smoke if not Med-Full..I like this a lot Very creamy initial puff, subtle Very aromatic in flavors through out First 1" was a little blah but then picked flavor until the end Hint of Citrus/Floral maybe? 70 min smoke Very enjoyable med-full smoke, not overbearing at all 9/10 rating Would definitely smoke again
ksblazer Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Thanks for the review. You dont see a lot of diplomatico reviews and this is the first one I recall seeing on the diplomatico No.1 From your review, it sounds like I need to give this cigar a try.
thechenman Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Thanks for the review. ksblazer was right. This is the first Dip #1 review I have seen. Usuallyl they are for a #2 or #4.
Bartolomeo Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 Diplomaticos #1 ARA FEB 01 This is a follow up from the above review, bought a fiver of the same cigar and box code from a different member to compare I still prefer my Monte #1 from 06 to this, but this Dip#1 is still pretty good, just a tad less complexity and flavor White flaky ash, box press, great construction Same flavors as above with some additional cream The first 1" on this sucked as well then it really opened up after that, especially in 2/3 I enjoyed this one as well but not box worthy just yet, maybe when I am done smoking my box of Montes from Czar will I think about these 8.9/10 Bart
