El Presidente Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Our thoughts are with all affected in the crash. I know we have a some members who catch trains home in Washington around that time. Check in when you can.
tugboat Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. The train was bound for downtown so fewer pasengers thank God.
anacostiakat Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. The train was bound for downtown so fewer pasengers thank God. Yes at least nine killed at present count. Could have been much much worse.
cabaiguan juan Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 i cannot beleive that this made international news! Not that I'm completly numb to the fact that a bunch of people got hurt and some died and that it should not have happened, but seriously, isn't there something more meaningful or pertinant to your locallity which would be more important then a big traffic accident in a DC suburb?
tugboat Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 ...."isn't there something more meaningful or pertinant to your locallity which would be more important"...... Coming out of our Nations Capitol lately.....not really....maybe the killing of an innocent fly by the hand of our president. It was reported PETA and its members were pretty upset about that one. I guess it depends on if you knew the families of the train wreck or of the flies. To each his own I guess.
jeromeroselli Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Being a former New Yorker, I can say the one thing you always take for granted is train safety. That's why this has received such exposure. You know the risks you take when you are driving or traveling by air. But you never second guess when you get on a train. It's become possibly the safest type of travel. So safe, that even after this incident, I still won't second guess my safety when stepping onto a train. Makes you think....
cabaiguan juan Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I'll admit that I take it for ganted, but I'm still suprised at the amount of international attention.
smk819 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 My Brother in Law, and my niece both take the train in from Rockville. Does anyone know the origin of this train?
