Hand-made La Flor de Canos are some of the most sought-after cigars in the world. They are incredibly good as well! I suppose I can't change the minds of the masses, but I can't sit back idly while what in my opinion is a fantastic idea gets shot down.

I would be quite happy with the Bolivar Lancero, RA Lancero, or the LFDC Short Churchills. Almost equally.

And in my opinion the lancero is a size and blend quite unique to itself. Stronger, more depth and intensity of flavor.

Not all long/non-fat cigars are the same.

And Greenpimp with the Lancero you forgot to say also high amount of plugged cigars ..

I'm going with the lancies! It'd be cool to see an RE in that format.

Hopefully they've figured out how to roll them by now. :D

OMG... EVERYONE PLEASE VOTE FOR THE LFDC Robusto! This would be the most rediculously cool, best sought after, highly collectible RE made anywhere by anyone! I'd buy 20 boxes. If this idea "dies on the table" then it will be a true tragedy!

tom, i am thinking of a way to clone myself so i can vote twice for the LFDC robo (short churchill)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

i am right there with you on this one brother. this would be my favorite cigar ever made, ever!

i have voted for the LFDC robo and the RA lanceros.

The Boli Lancero would be nice. Rob, you mentioned "tweaking it up" a bit for better draw.

Yup. Tweak it up to 40 ring gauge and call it the Bolivar Fundadore.

I would also like to see the La Flor De Cano Short Churchill, but I think the reason why it's so low in vote count is because most people don't realize the elegance of the original which was discontinued in 1992. Instead, they're picturing the short-fillered cigars they make.

Now, I have not been around that long to try the original, but MRN's book definitely made it sound like a gem.

Imagine, we peons, we unwashed masses, not voting for a cigar who's blend we've never tried! The audacity of us, voting for a cigar who's

blend we actually have some experience with!

I see you're taking offense to my post with the sarcasm? I did not meant to offend anyone, so please don't take it that way.

You said it in your post that it's a blend nobody's tried before, which is why I am curious. REs are meant to be something special right? So why not bring back a rare cigar so we can try something new?

C'mon - my tongue planted firmly in cheek! I guess I need to use the smilies more often :)

And regardless, here you are entitled to your opinion.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I love corona gordas and Ramon Allones as much or more than the next guy. However, what I like best is stuff that's different. So far some of the stuff from RA that we've gotten...

05 Seleccion Suprema 5.6 x 46

05 Eminencia 5.6 x 44

07 Eminencia 5.6 x 44 (re-released and still available at many swiss vendors)

09 Britanicas 5.4 x 46 (this year's RE for the Asia/Pacific region)

I know that these aren't all that widely released, but I think that the intent of this whole program is more akin to putting out special, unique cigars. Yet another RA in this size range seems redundant to me.

Additionally, the old LFDCs are monumentally unique cigars. While the old blend would be difficult to replicate, this would be an historic release in my opinion. I think this is a great opportunity! Also, consider that the A-P region encompasses the Hong Kong collectors. They'd go nuts over this cigar. It would be a sell-out in a matter of weeks.

I could not agree more with you Tom. Why the hell do we need another corona gorda sized RA? I can buy them by the dozen right now if I want. Let's get something that is really unique, and interesting!

I really wanted to vote for the LFDC SC's but I just don't see how they could come close to replicating the original blend (which I've never experienced anyway). If they decided to make a punch SS#2 for 2010 I suspect I would be really disappointed when comparing them to the 92' SS#2 I recently smoked. I understand that much like the SS#2's the LFDC SC's took a looong time to show their true colors. My vote goes to both lancero options with a slight preferance to RA.

I voted for both the Ramon Allones, Lancero and Corona Gorda, as all the RE's produced in the RA marque have been Outstanding! I would have also selected the Bolivar Lancero yet only 2 selections were allowed in the pole.

Jimmy, while historically the Lancero was experienced less the 100% desireability in construction issues, I have seen and experienced tremendous gains from Habanos SA in the construction of thin ring gauge cigars. Have you heard of any construction issues from the Partagas Serie du Connaisseur line from any of the No. 1's, No. 2's, or No.3's? I have not. Next, Habanos SA takes great care to only use the very best rollers with their Regional Edicions as a failure in construction on one of their high dollar and high profit makers would be a devestational to the concept of the very best limited release only being available to the RE Marketing practice. Therefore, I would strongly argue that a RE Lancero of any marque would be some of the finest construction coming out of Cuba in many, many years.

Fair enough, but I'm damn curious to see what Habanos SA would do when charged with the task of replicating that old blend. Might it suck? I suppose so, but that would hardly be a first for them with regard to some regional releases that they've already put together (Boli Colossales, Libertadore).

The RA "Lancero" sounds great. I'd love to see it. But, if you're looking for a Bolivar "Lancero" or an RA CG, they already exist, plainly and simply.

LFdC Short Churchill. That, friends, would be worth the price of admission. Totalmente a mano LFdC's will assuredly fly off the shelves. I'll definitely do my part. :cigar:

Conicales....are unique IMHO

Boloivar lanceros are already out in Germany.

Rob,

Does this poll mean you are going to pick up these two regionals for purchase here at C-Czar? I really want the Bolivar Alemania release and I'm not sure if it is difficult for you to swing the regionals. If you are able to I would rather just get them here.

Posted

Nigh impossible Tim.

Regionals are generally tightly held. Even when other retailers get them they are normally at jacked up prices so there is no advantage (price).

Use your regular sources in the country of release where possible. If you have any problems contact the distributor and ask for the details of a retailer in their region who would ship overseas.

.

Absolutely agree 200% . ^_^ Sure, LFDC ain't regarded as high end, but I've tried some cetros-wrapped little delicacies from 06 that made me respect the marca. A Bolivar Lancero would be uber cool too!! B)
