I've wanted to try this cigar since reading in a magazine somewhere that it's one of Jemma Freeman's go-to cigars if time is short. This one is from a single stick buy, so I don't have the box code; I think 2008.

Setting: contemplating the tree I'm going to enter at the Bonsai Show next week, cool Autum evening in Toowomba with Lucy the viscious and deadly hound looking on.

Construction: minimal oils, slight tooth, rugged, nice little pigtail, good construction other than a hole in the bunch at the foot (see photo).

Smell at cold: simple earthy tobacco notes.

Draw: Just slightly on the tight side.

Opening: Lots of smoke for such a little guy! Creamy, medium bodied.

1st 1/3: Creamy with hints of grassyness, simple flavours with not much else discernable.

2nd 1/3: Not much progression from the flavours in the first third.

3rd 3/3: Ongoing cream notes, with a hint of weak milk coffee.

Overall Impression: Good burn throughout, mild flavours, medium bodied (with no wasabi detected). Pleasant short smoke, but not packing as much in as say a Party short or Boli PC. 86

Nice review. Nice tree. I would be hopeless with bonsai - too tempted to 'improve' it resulting in a total hash.

Anyway, Reyes have been popular with me too. Straight as a die and slow burn, nearly an hour if I remember right. Love em.

Nice job George. I didnt know you were into bonsai. I dont think Id have the patience. Still, let it grow a bit and I can make a nice little bureau out of it for you.

Nice review George!

Trini Reyes lost a little of their Mojo during different times in 08. It was during 08 that Punch Petit Punch surpassed the Reyes and my morning coffee smoke. Some recent examples show a little more promise (greater intensity/richness) and a trend to what I hope is a return to their best.
