Havent had stock in these for a whilt till I made an order and Monty #1s were out. So I asked Lisa to just pick something good out and send it. This is believe was early 2008.

Color is light Colorado with really no veins showing, unlike some boxes of Monty Sublimes and so.

Perfect construction and burn ( even with the fast smokeing I do)

Prelight draw is sweet with a hint of anise and gin??? Go figure.

1st third you get hits of swarms of melow flavors of cherry flavor mixed with that fruity taste. A perfect blend. Nothing overpowering the other.

2nd third a bit stronger to a medium + side of things. Flavors almost reain the same with a bit stronger flavors but now entering are tastes of Sugar Cookies with white cream frosting. ( finally figured out what those flavors were . Mom made cookies last week and then it hit me after I ate the whole platter ) LOOL

3rd third a bit stronger with only a hint of spice but more of a stronger tobacco taste now. Never running or tunneling. which is surpriseing since it is a 40 minute cigar for me.

Overall if you like the fruity tasteing cigars ( not the other fruity wookie boy) lololol , with flavors of sugar cookie, grenadine, and a finish that lasts for hours, then the Punch Punch is for you.

I am a huge Punch *****. When I recieved these , I waited 30 days to light 1 up. It was nasty with no flavor. I was actually gonna call Lisa and ask "why did you send this crap" but as with time it heals all wounds and these are gems.

I would give them a 90/100 for a perfect balanced cigar.

Thanks for the review, Hal. I've not had a Punch Punch for some time, but have been slowly smoking from a box of June 06 RS 11.

I'm finding that they are still coming together - not showing all at this time.

Love Punch Punch for many many years now. It was my long time go to cigar through

the mid 90's when I was introduced to the Black Prince. The Prince quickly replaced the

Punch Punch as my number 1 go to cigar. It stuck me as a natural progression

in discovering Punch. In the BP I found a more subtle version of

my old friend, some additional flavors, creamier, but again more subdued and imho

a cigar worth taking the time to get to know. Now lost to production, sadly. And now

with the loss of the BP it is back to Punch Punch with at least 10years on them.

This review is for a 2008 cigar

Punch Punch 2008

Light Brown/Tan colored wrapper, tightly packed, great construction

Even burn and nice resistance in the draw

Initial puff was medium spice, toasted tobacco and some cedar

Solid Medium not yet Full smoke

Flavors were powdered sugar, wood, spice, musky

2/3 was a little stronger than start

Ash was light Grey with nice cone

More complex than I was expecting

Very traditional Cuban tobacco taste

Spicy aftertaste in back of my throat, good long finish

Great depth

53 min smoke time

Very good, solid cigar

9.15/10

It sounds like the venerable PP is coming back into style. I haven't had one in years, because I have found them to be too inconsistent. My favorite Punches are the RS11 and SS1. You have a good box; the flavors you describe are classic Punch. It's surprising that they are showing this well so young; it usually takes years for the sweetness to develop and the flavors to show themselves. Thanks for the tempting review.

I agree. I have a couple of boxes of Punch Punch from 05, and they are still not completely there yet.

The Corona's I have from 98, and the RS's from 2000 are just stellar!

These cigars need a ton of time, but they are worth the wait.

Another Punch *****
