I just want to share my excitement and enthusiasm regarding this year's season of Formula 1. I have been a fan of the sport and the former Honda F1 team. They vanished this year but was reincarnated to become the Brawn GP team! My hopes of that team may soon become a reality of having championship aspirations this weekend! Go Rubens and Jenson!

Hi There,

I am also a big F1 Fan and Ferrari in particular, wish Brawn, Tod, Schumacher alliance was still intact. Hope everything works out for Team Brawn. The sport badly needs more competition not less. Will be watching on tape delay over the weekend.

Cant believe Bernie is thinking of pulling the Australian GP entirely. He and Mosely are such wankers...F1 needs alot of changes for the future...but that is a different topic.

I like all types of racing, and am not what I'd call a huge F1 fan. I don't have the channel that most races are broadcast on, but do watch

when shown on regular broadcast channels. I can't help but root for Ferrari :)

I am right there with ya! This year looks to be very interesting with new rules and some top teams lagging behind in testing.

As a life-long fan and photographer, I am like a little kid every two weeks on sunday.

I collect some F1 and Ferrari memorabillia...Got to love the history of Ferrrai and how they have stayed true to their roots to this day even with their road cars.

Here is some neat stuff I was able to pick up over the years

First pic is Michael Schumacher actual race worn gloves from his German 2004 Hockenheim Grand Prix win and the second pic is a signed 60th anniversary dinner menu signed by Kimi Raikonnen, Felipe Massa, Micahel Schumacher, Jean Alesi, Gerhard Berger,Nicky Lauda, Ediie Irvine, Jody Schetter,Rene Arnoux and Pierro Ferrari from the 60th anniversary dinner held in Marenello June 2007.

Wow, nice items there

Personally I like the production car based races more. The Australian Bathurst 1000 is a favourite although nowadays too much show-biz, not as gritty as say in the 70s and 80s

I am a fan of the Red cars, it will be interesting to see how Lewis Hamilton will do with the troubles that Mclarens are having with pace. I have withdrawel symtom from the end of the season until the first race. Go Kimi and Felipe.

I just looked at the practice times. Williams and Brawn were at the top of the list with Ferrari in 19th and 11th place, and the McLarens were farther down. It seems the cars with the Controversial difusers were in the faster group.

yeah but practice times dont mean much, with till 'qually then you will see world order restored.

Qualifying is now over, and the Brawns are on the front row. Ferraris are 7th and 10th, and the McLarens are in the in the middle of the back of the pack. It is going to be interesting to see how the season progresses.

I think that's why I like Ferrari as well - they have a long racing heritage.

Great collection! Have you seen the spy pics of the upcoming F450? It looks like it's going to be a beauty.

Here are a few Ferrari pics I took at the Cars of Lauren exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston a few years back:

Well look here patman!!

Not only have Jenson and Rubens been given a new life in a new team, but they have placed the soul in the team by winning the F1 in Melbourne. Congratulations!!

I'm a huge F1 fan, I generally go every year, Row A in the Moss stand.

My favourite team would have to be McLaren Mercedes back from the old Mika Hakkinen and DC days and in some small way, wish Mika would make a comeback!! :rotfl:

In saying the above, I also like a few drivers on other teams, like Kimi (I know he is arrogant) who is a good driver when not reckless, Jenson Button, Rubens, Nick Heidfeld.

I love the way the Adrian Newey Red Bull looks and performs, again, Adrian designed the old McLarens for Mika and DC.

This is the start of a season with even lesser sleep for myself as I tend to stay up and watch all the races, but hey, I love the sport!!! ;)

Enjoy the season guys!!

I am also a fan of the sport and went to two grand prix races in Indy when they ran there. The sound of an F1 engine in full song on the front strech is something amazing to hear.

Quite an appropriate place for a Ferrari, the Museum of Fine Arts!

I agree, the 2.4 litre V8's on these babies at 18,000 RPM is a sound to behold! :rotfl:

I was overseas in Europe back in 2001 where I attended the Hungarian GP and German GP's. I particularly loved the race in Nurburgring where I sat near turn 12 (Rheinland Pfalz-Bogen). Awesome experience, would love to go to Monte Carlo!

Speaking of F1, I recently received a mailing from Visa inviting me to an exclusive VIP experience in Monaco, 3 nights at a 5 star hotel, speedboat transportation to the race, team hospitality suite pass, etc. for the low price of $6800....per person...airfare extra.

Oh well, maybe next year.

Hey OZ, what didn't you like about Channel ten's coverage?

- Is it the fact that they like to put on commercials during pertinent moments when a race is interesting?

- Perhaps it's the commentating?

I'll look into the BBC feed for the next time tho and have a stogie with a nice scotch!
