This winter has been a rough ride. I work in an industry in a field that has been turned upside down. Coming to this site and looking at the reviews has been a nice way for me to unwind and get my mind off the week's troubles. Things are starting to look up, or at least, not look so bad, for a change. To celibrate, I took my first dip into the SP Molinos that Lisa hooked me up with. Let me give you my impressions.

It is just a nice looking cigar, with a great pre-ignition draw: sweet with fruity accents and hints of soft woods. I decided to take a stroll down to my local pub and lit up right when I got outside for the walk down. Initially, lite and consistent burn are as good as it gets. Great volumes of smoke with a nice burn let me take it down relatively quickly. Medium, not overbearing, but having character I would say. Not much change over the 1st 3rd to the last 3rd, which was good.

I took it down to the nub. I would say this cigar belongs in the mix and the time and place for it is Sunday after brunch. I am not giving 1 -100 ratings anymore, but instead the smoke ring rating. It is a 3 smoke ring: not blowing you away, but nothing detracting either. Will watch these develop over the next year or so.

Good night and peace out.

I am smoking one right now. The draw is tight, making the smoking slow, but it is still pleasant. Very mellow. Subtle saltiness and a little chocolaty at first then turned to woodsy sweet and it finished off with much of the same. I nubbed it and enjoyed its mellowness.

Thanks for coming back on this. It had been some time since I put out this review and since the Molinos is not that mainstream of a smoke, I was not surprised at the response or lack thereof. But I have smoked a few since this review and have come to like it even more - iit is not going to blow you away, but at the right time and place is nice.

- Enjoy.

I am smoking another right now and, although I am sure it is not from the same box as my last one, it smokes the same!

Thanks for the review. I myself have never been much of a SP fan. I don't like the Nonplus the Monlinos, or the rest of the line for that matter. Someday I suppose I will trade off the remaining of my Molinos for something I like more.

I am glad that someone likes them. -Piggy
