Guest RobertU Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Hi all. My name is Robert. I'm from the Philadelphia region of the US...on the NJ side of the bridge for those who are in or know the area. I've been smoking for about 2 years now, maybe a little more. I average about 1 cigar a day. My tastes tend toward the fuller flavored cigars like Pepin, Fuego, Padron, La Flor, Illusione, etc. I've only had about a half-dozen Cuban cigars. The last one, which I just smoked a couple nights ago, was a Montecristo #2. Well, between that and the HdM corona I had last spring, I need to know more about these! So, I'm here to read and learn, and contribute where I can.

jeromeroselli Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Robert- Pats or Ginos? -Jeremy (cheese steak aficianado) ; )
buster Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Robert-Pats or Ginos? -Jeremy (cheese steak aficianado) ; ) Jim's But it has to be the original location, though, on No. 62nd between W. Girard and Callowhill. If I have to choose between Pats and Ginos, I go w/ Pats. Better taste, except for that period in the 70's when they were serving up the out-of-the-money finishers at Liberty Bell Park Rick
Guest RobertU Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Robert-Pats or Ginos? -Jeremy (cheese steak aficianado) ; ) Well, this may have me forcibly removed from Philadelphia, but I've yet to have a cheese steak at either Pat's or Gino's. Moved here a little over a year ago and just haven't done it yet.

But my favorite is across the street at Ishkabibbles. I lived within 1 block of all of these places at different points in time (no longer in Phila) so I'm well versed in the cheese steak. Robert- There is no excuse! You've got to get to one of these places. Next time you're on south street, go to Jims or Ishkabibbles. Both are around 3rd/4th on South. You won't be disappointed!
