habanohal Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I smoked my first one from my box this afternoon. It is a beuty of a cigar. Very sheen in oils, flawless wrapper, with great color. Draw was perfect, and flavor was immense. Weird to say almost too rich of flavor. Not really any spice, and not in tasteing of the Monty line. What is somewhat upsetting is that to me, all these ELs almopst all have the same profile and taste alike. I will be stocking up on a few more boxes, for they are TASTY! Though the ring gauge is just way too big. My theory on HSA and ELs that are not smaller ring gauge is that they wouldnt be able to get or charge the premium that they do? Are you really gonna pay $300 or so for a box of PCs ? Or even a box of Panatellas? Main point is that for years now, it can get pretty hard telling the differance, besides size, of each yeasrs ELs.

Buy a stalwart RyJ Julieta with the money, or RA Gigantes, a box of Sir Winnies...! The list goes on and it is as monotonous as my preaching! -Piggy
Guest rob Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I agree... they are way overpriced and can be same-ish. Having siad that... I always look out for the occasional stellar release and then stock up like crazy. Cohiba 2006's are a good example.

So far I am not too impressed with '08 but I have limited '08 experience.
