Freefallguy Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 It was a great week in Nicaragua with our esteemed Presidente; an absolute hoot! We laughed we cried (yes, tears over the buffet habits of an unnamed forum member), smoked and imbibed. Enjoyed deep discussions and idle chatter. I was in stitches over stories of Havana and fishing and camping and way more. Talking points included: • Politics • Religion • Philanthropy • Bob Brown • Finance • False casting 35 times • Girl Fridays • Guy Fridays • Friday lunches • Mud bogging in waders • Fiery notes at a James Suckling event • Log throwing( like a girl) • Little toys, big toys • Aussie slang, new to me( piss fit, quaffer, kip, happy clapper) • Adult beverages( Baily’s 1999 Cab, Mu sake, Moet & Chandon champagne, Flor de Cano Rum, Bushmill’s 10 year old single malt) • And of course, cigars(Punch Punch petite, hand rolled double robusto Rainier[Hamlet’s brother], Cohiba Reserve- robusto, exquisito, lancero, Cohiba 2006 LE, HDM 2003 LE, PSD4, Por Larranaga Asian Exclusivo and more than memory serves) It truly was a week of friendship, laughter, loyalty and fraternity. You're welcome back anytime mate. Lise- My flight left Nicaragua before Rob, but last I knew he was in a room, alone, at the Best Western in Managua. Be sure and let us know when, IF he checks in with you! Some photos follow; I’ll post more as time and space allow: In a fishing village on the Pacific coast... Tying one on... Perfect form... Last cast...
Colt45 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Thanks for the update and pics Looking forward to more.
GP012 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I see Rob has "upgraded" his shirt department... no more pastels, flowers or hot pinks.
cabaiguan juan Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 is that hot sauce in the second pic? What kind is it?
Ken Gargett Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 • False casting 35 times is he still doing it?
Freefallguy Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 is that hot sauce in the second pic? What kind is it? Yeh... Lizano "Chile". Not very original, but a great accent to the langosta(lobster) ceviche!
Freefallguy Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 • False casting 35 timesis he still doing it? Ken, would it have been easier for you if I'd noted the "dance of death"? There was a much better story about a bloke jumping out of a canoe into a mud bog and then screaming like a nancy boy "I'm dying, I'm dying!"
Ken Gargett Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Ken, would it have been easier for you if I'd noted the "dance of death"? There was a much better story about a bloke jumping out of a canoe into a mud bog and then screaming like a nancy boy "I'm dying, I'm dying!" nearly did. was that the same time that a certain pirate ran around in circles crying about someone scaring the log he thought was a fish?
Freefallguy Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 nearly did. was that the same time that a certain pirate ran around in circles crying about someone scaring the log he thought was a fish? Something like that... but the way I heard it the log was tossed errantly, scared the fish and someone aptly suggested you “jump back into the mud before the pirate whups yer arse!” Where are you fishing on the south island?
asmith Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I see why you caught no fish, look at those pants....the fish were scared away by the bright colours.
